From the original announcement of pre-registration:

Don’t delay! Sign up today to reserve your spot at AdeptiCon 2011. Last year, many popular events filled up well before the end of online registration, and this year will likely be no different. In addition, due to our expansion, our AdeptiCon 2011 event slots are HARD LIMITS. In the past we have had the flexibility to add slots as events were filled. This year, we WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ADD ADDITIONAL SLOTS. Once events are sold out, NO MORE WILL BE ADDED! Don’t be left out – sign up today!

My understanding is that it's a space issue - the team tournament pretty much fills the largest available space to capacity.

I *don't* want to go play Gladiator. It's all about the FW, and I just don't have the kind of armies to compete against that hard core group.
Really, it's not. I liked bringing FW stuff, but (outside the silly year of unassaultable Reaver Titans) it's generally more effective to bring more standard stuff. And it does have an interesting format this year, what with the sideboards.

But yeah -Adepticon is all about the Team Tourney for me; everything else is fungible.

Agreed, I'm quite looking forward for the WFB TT. I lucked out and have a great partner for it. Our chances of winning are small, our bartab will be large.

I'd love to see the WHFB TT grow to rival the 40k version. It'd have to start with 4-man teams; the metagame effects alone are always a fun part of the team planning. I guess it'd have to take over Friday, but Adepticon has always tilted towards 40k, and the revamp of the Championships pretty much precludes a really big WHFB Friday event.

It's also really hard to travel (on an airplane) with both a 40k and a Fantasy army. Next year, I might have to look into some sort of "ship ahead" service. But letting my minis out of my control is always scary.

Unless, AdeptiCon moved to a true 4-Day format. Imagine the possibilities. : )
Skip 4 days, and go straight to a full-week event!

For me, it's already a 4 day event (arrive Thursday, leave Monday). Sunday got so much more pleasant once I gave up on trying to get home that night.
