I'd consider the 2nd list as its more unusual.
However, I'd give one RW squadron two flamers which are essential for horde control.

I have no exp with DA but I can offer some suggestions for the C:SM list ...

At such low points the captains well over equipped. Change him to a basic chaplin with a jump pack (and melter bombs if you like).

On the tactical squads the PF + Melter bombs is counter productive.

On the assault squad the plasma pistol and TH is asking for trouble. Its an expensive model to risk loosing for 1 strength 7 shot.

As for the speeder HF/MM is 'considered' the best configuration, but thats down to choice.

And why take flamers for horde control if it means i will get assaulted next turn? I can just drive away from hordes pelting them with bolter fire.

How many bolter shots do you have in your RW ?

Combined with the speeders and sammael i have enough to handle horde units if i can isolate them a bit.

But at roughly 35 points a model and only 1 attack can i afford to let them get that close to a most likely close combat based horde army.

Indeed, there is absolutly no need for flamers in the 1k RW list.

Personally Im not a fan of the 100pts Ac speeders even if they are scoring...not sure what better way to spend 200pts tho

The Vanilla list seems pretty meh tho. Mostly because of the craptastic ASMs...
