I would at some point like to get all of the HQ choices for my Orks, Mainly just to paint them. So far I have BR Warboss, I have Big Mek with shock attack guns, I got Thraka and Mad Doc and Snikrot even.

But as far as game play goes I wanna know if anyone here has actually used Old Zogwart and had the pleasure of turning Another HQ into a squig like Eldrad or a Demon Lord.
Or has successfully used Badruk to blow appart another enemy unit or just kicked someones teef in with Zagstruk and his gang.

What are the good qualities of the not so much used Ork HQ's vs their bad ones?

The Ork SC's (With the exception of Wazdakka, Ghazzy, Snikrot) are designed to be fun. It can't be competitive if you have 30 FNP 5+ invul save ard boyz. Come to think about it, that could sit on an objective forever. If the SC didn't have RAEG.

The last time I saw Badrukk used, he killed nothing and was killed by a burst cannon on turn 2 (although this was the most unlucky player I know using him). But, used well, he could be quite useful. IIRC, his gun is STR 8, AP 2 and has something like 4 shots but has "gets hot." Also, you have to take him in a unit of flash gitz, which are quite bad for their points.

If we're just talking about HQs and not special characters (squad upgrades), several have their uses.

1. Old Zogwort: In a foot-slogging list, he's nasty. If you're running a mechanized list, he's competing for spots with a KFF Big Mek, Ghazghkull, or a warboss.

2. Wazdakka fits a role in a themed biker list, although a warbiker list isn't exactly competitive....

Well I kinda meant Independent characters as well to also include Zagstruk and the rest etc. I kinda feel like getting Zag or Zogwort next. Even though I do not have nearly enough storm boyz.
I would like to paint them up all cool cuz if you have seen the Big Mek I painted I can capture the ork look pretty well.

I am gonna make a thread about it even though its been asked a million times but I think I am good enough to start practicing checkered flags now. I just need tips etc.

So far I got is these

1.Mega Armored Warboss, I made it out of a Mega Nob..Gave it a Fantasy Warflag and call it a warboss. I forget what kinda gun It had.
2.Big Mek with my favorite upgrade. Shock Attack Gun! I see the Force Field only as a cheap trick and annoyance than a game winning mechanic, Plus the gamble with the gun is fun for me.
3.Two black reach warboss
4.Ghazzy
5.Mad Doc....he was fun as hell to paint!
6.Snikrot...Still gotta finish him but his uses are very nice especially since I used him at ard boyz and snuck Ghazzy in behind enemy lines twice against a Eldar Player and a IG....yeah...it ruined both of their days.

Zagstruk has seen some use on my lists, simply because i wanted to buy it for the sake of the model. I found that you have to take a fairly large squad for him to last. that increases chances of mishaps. but it is rather nice getting a full initiative power klaw in there. that's pretty much all he is good for though. not that great.
Snikrot is so much better!
Oh yeah mad dok is also great, but he can be fairly easily kited into something that him and his boyz can't beat / make their points back on

I have turned Astorath into a squig with zogwort. The BA players face was a picture. Fantastic times.

I personally would love too see Zagstrukk beefed up a little, made more points and have him as a HQ, Maybe he could make Stormboyz troops?

You can also turn a Sanguinary priest into a squig... I know from personal experience.

HQ I would like to see turned into a squig.

Eldrad ulthran when he is on jetbike....which If I remember right he can be on one.

Eldrad can't take a jetbike, Lemartes is not an independant character, and Chaos Lords can't take fzorgle.

oh yeah...it i was demon lord that takes the whip thing. I was pretty sure Eldrad can be on a jetbike though. I seem to remember something about that or it could had just been the warlocks.

No such thing as demon lords, just Daemon Princes. Eldrad can't take a bike, he has no wargear options. Only normal farseers and warlocks can.

Was fun turning abbadon into a squig in round one of a tournament, also have gotten Ragnar, and another one in the same game.
