I don't know how accurate this is (i was using google translate)

I was going through regional GW webpages to see if any good mini pics like regional GD stuff (australia's ones are very good by the way) have been put up and i came to japan's GW web i started seeing lots of PDF stuff and not just WD stuff

You seem to get a full C:SM codex for free (in japanese), if so what the hell GW?

The down side is, if you lose you have dishonored your family, and you know what you have to do then...

The positive is anything from tamiya or bendai is auto counts as !

GW's main objective is to sell models.

GW models are a hard sell in Japan, because there are tons of better looking (depending on aesthetics), cheaper, SF and Fantasy type models available already.

The main reason to buy GW models is because of the games.

Japan doesn't have an indigenous wargaming culture, so the game is a hard sell too.

The strategy therefore is to give away most of the game and hope the models will sell afterwards.

It makes sense, so of my best looking models are Japanese made, I find if odd that war gaming isn't a big thing though...

Let's not forget to mention the other details, though.

- The Japanese PDF's have come out at least a month behind the rest of the world until the Dark Eldar codex, and there's no actual release date for that one yet.

- Go here http://jp.games-workshop.com/resources/wh40k/default.htm and count the missing books. Keep in mind that before last year, Blood Angels and Space Wolves weren't on that list and were only added when their 5th edition books came out. And that the Dark Eldar list on the site is just a modified version of the original 3rd edition rulebook list and not even the real codex.

Yeah, Japanese rules come out as PDFs because it takes forever and a day for the translation to be made. The models get marked up well above what I've sure any of you all pay too. Last I checked for example, a box of 5 centigors costs over 7000 yen at my local GW. Under current exchange rates that's over 80.00USD, for 5 models that sell for $57.75 on the GWUS site.

Comparable to the Australian mark up, then?

Who doesn't love the Japanese?

I mean besides the Red Chinese.

And the Norks.

No one.

That's who.

Don't forget the Russians.

And of course Leichtenstein. But they hate everyone. Its their way.

I thought all this was fairly well known info.

I was under the impression that the Koreans didn't like the Japanese that much. So the Red Chinese and the Koreans.

That's because even compared to European homes (which are considered small by Americans) Japanese homes can almost be called tiny. There isn't much room for gaming tables.

Well,As Japanese player,I don't feel much love from GW.

as said above,Price is damn high. This is big reason why.

Yeah,Codex is free. It's good. Most of Japanese player appreciate it.
Quality of Translation is so so.Some people complain about it quality. but Japanese is very difficult language. So I feel how hard translation work is.

2nd reason,
Till last month,We couldn't direct order from Hobby Center.
And even now,We can't receive items from GW web order

3rd
There is no official tournament.
I think GW japan do not want push "Game" part. They mostly push "model" part. I feel this is bad try.Because Here is too much rivals for model.....

that is my view about loves from GW japan.
