Training sheep, Stocking Urchins.

I want to get a GUO to lead my DOC and I was wandering about options.
I was gonna go for:
Balesword
Stream of Bile
Level 2 wizard
As their are lots of small 25 point options, I was thinking of dropping the balesword.

Any ideas? - Help appreciated.

I'd say it hinges greatly on what else is in the list. The balesword turns the GUO into a monster/monstrous infantry slayer. It goes well with ability that makes everyone else strike last (can't remember its name right now). So if you find yourself having trouble with those targets, it makes for a good selection.

If you don't have a large block of horrors, it becomes a little more important to have the magic levels for the dispel assistance. I always thought it would be fun to make him a bit of a crowd control model (pestilent mucus, nurgle's rot, stream of corruption). Probably not all that effective, but something different. Also, with all those wounds, I think it would be handy to have a herald of tzeentch with the lore of life to keep him healthy...

On a delicate chain at her throat, she keeps it with her to this day.”

In ur gaem, killin ur doodz.

Traditional logic usually suggests that the more you spend on a character, the more like you should look into protection first, and offense second. Since the GUO is probably the most resilient character in the book, you can look into attacky stuff.

But then you also run into the problem that you're pouring so many points into one hole, that you really should be trying to spread the wealth.

So perhaps a cheap weapon, (not like he needs it) and stream of bile should be manditory...

But when it comes to expensive characters, less is almost always better.

GUO doesn't get cheap weapons, and his armor (4+ armor, regen) really isn't great.
I'd just make him a level 3 or level 4, wizard and save the rest of the points for his little lore of life tzeench helper.

I was going to get a horde of 40 Horrors and a Herald of Tzeentch with lore of life before I even started this thread, orginally to toughen up my infantry blocks, but I guess it would work well on my GUO.
