Does anyone actually know what happened to Sanguinius's sword after his death I mean assuming it wasn't destroyed wouldn't it be an incredibly valuable chapter relic ? same for his armour ?. Really just looking for some fluff confirmation as to what happened to sate my own curiosity, lastly on a non fluffy note is it me or does sanguinius's armour / sword look surprisingly sinister with the glowing red eyes everywhere or is this some kind of pre heresy imperial motif that im unfamiliar with ?.

Well according to Lexicanum(to answer the question about his armor):
[...]Sanguinius's body was taken by the Imperial forces as they retreated from the buckling Chaos Barge and his body was borne away to his home planet Baal, where he was buried deep within a vast tomb whose doors were topped with massive Angel effigies in honour of the fallen Primarch.[...]

As far as why his armor looks a lot like Horus's(imo), perhaps it's because they were so close as brothers and intentionally had their armor sets designed to be similar(although afaik, Horus's armor...changed...during the Heresy, so that's just imperfect speculation on my part).

I believe what you think to be irises similar to those one Horus' armor are actually black blood drops. But it's true that Sanginus and Horus were really close.

If you look at his sword on the ground, it looks pretty destroyed to me.

its kinda snapped but im sure it could be reforged right maybe even into two separate weapons xD I was just Imagining incorporating the broken sword into some blood angel banner or something now that would be awesome.

I never got why they buried them with there armour, They should at least pass the armour on to the next chapter master or something would be pretty sweet.

Its in the "crux terminatus" the skull / cross shaped bade on the terminator shoulderpad apparently each one contains a tiny tiny fragment of the emperors armour

Like Mukkin'About wrote you confused the two but man that would be cool idea, or even if the Sanguinor was just the psychic imprint of sanguinius that was left in his armour that somehow gained its own sentience and lives on after his death.

The Crux Terminatus bit is still just a rumor though Right? IIRC it never says either way right?

Its a rumour that every terminator suit has a shard, cause thatd be next to impossible to fit a shard of one suit of armour into EVERY single suit of terminator armour in existence thats spread across the galaxy, But I think its generally held as a fact that every suit of terminator armour used by captains has a shard, this sounds a lot more believable imo too.

It is highly suggested.. but Factual? it's hit or miss like a lot of GW fluff. It's fair to say that some do, but not absolutely every suit does. Destruction of these suits has probably lead to not every suit having one

Yea, unless "Shard" means "microscopic dust speck" i think it'd be hard to have it in all of them

Id be pretty pissed if they melted down the emperors sword to turn into shards to put into peoples shoulderpads as well, I mean seriously ?!?! what is up with people in 40k at least the ultramarines have the right idea of actually using the almighty weapons of ass kickery left behind by there progenitor. Imo The Emperor's sword should be given to the overall leader of the Grey Knights, and yes i know there's not an overall leader per say but several grand masters, but whoever out of them is either the strongest or has the best track record or something to that effect.

The rumor is that the shards are in the Crux Terminatus of terminator captains, not just any terminator. Thus cutting down the amount of shards needed drastically.

True that thing looks kick ass, How many Swords in 40k make their own fire? The Emparahz. I wonder if they even grabbed it.. They were a little concerned with him dying at the time.

Knowing the emperor It'd have some beastly ability to draw on the wielders psychic energy and channel it into the flame to increase the swords cutting power / let you discharge excess energy by shooting it out of the tip or something overpowered to that effect

This really begs the question if sangunius was psychic and knew he just had a to put a dent / scratch in horus's armour for The Emperor to be able to kill him, why didn't just fly in the room throw his sword at horus and fly out ?

I still wanna know Why Big E didnt see this coming, I mean Look at Horus! Just Fricken Look at him! Did Emprah go blind?

The emperor was busy on earth making the finishing touches on the golden throne which back then was supposed to be an opening to the eldar webway which humans could use, where as Horus was warmaster and had pretty much full control of the imperial army to wage war in the name of the emperor and take worlds on the outermost fringes of imperial territory so they likely wouldn't have seen each other for long periods of time, and its not like Horus would come over to have lunch with his dad once he'd been corrupted.

I think that's supposed to be the Emperor's retinue. Why they don't have their golden armour is beyond me though... And to be fair, what could they do? Considering how easily Horus obliterated Random Terminator #27 when he was attacked while fighting the Emperor, they most certainly wouldn't pose a threat to the Emperor.

Yeah I think that's a safe assumption. It looks like they all have an Eagle emblem on their pads whereas the ones behind Horus have the Eye. I think that fluff has changed over the years regarding who died....at first it was a lone guardsman that charged Horus...then it become a Custodes...then an Imperial Fist Term...

Afaik he was one of the people who went up their with him... i don't know why but i wish they didn't retcon him.
