I'm going to be playing a 2v2 soon as crons with my ally as a nids player. We're going to be versing an IG and a SW players and its going to be 1500 points per player with points non-transferable amongst teams.
What should I watch out for against the SW player? I know most tricks for the IG and how to counter those but I've never played against SW and I hear a lot about them on Dakka so it kind of worries me a bit. I don't know what I'll be taking yet nor any other lists.
Also, a quick question: if my ally has a trygon that deep strikes, can I use its hole also as long as I have stuff in reserve?

i don't know much about SW but i have counterd necrons for a hundred times with my SM army and you (as necron player) need a lot of destroyers.. immortals are also good do not let them charge you.. and start killing his most expensive units..
for your question: i am not really shure but i don't think you can use it.. it's a part of his army.. not yours but ou can still say they can go trough it if you and your opponent agree
but i dont see the advantage of it.. maybe with pariahs or your lord yes but that's it i suppose..
post your current list for comments if you like

Let's start with the easy question first. No. You can't use his trygon holes to come in just as he can't use your monolith to teleport in from reserves.

Wow. You are playing against the 2 toughest armies currently. I would take a lot of shooting against them (destroyers). Both you and your partner. Also take a destroyer lord with res-orb and maybe a c'tan (the deceiver) if you have the points. He's great at drawing a lot of fire and can usually survive. Then just glance the heck out of his vehicles. The nid player will need hive guards to help with shooting and then tervigons to constantly spawn more troops.

As a Chaos Player, I would say try to deep strike as much as possible to get in close. SW hvy weapons can bog down an army easy if they do not keep moving. My tactic is always move fast strike hard and have proper fire suport. So move in fast on these SW's and close combat em to death, and as thats happening shoot at any HQ or Chars in line of sight. Takeing them out early will get you victory only in points.

Chaos rules you all drool! Blood for the Blood God!
10,000 pts Black Legion
2,000 pts Traitor Catchian Guard (1067th).
8,000 point Sam Hain Eldar.

I'm going to be honest with you, this is an uphill battle.
This will be, in no way shape or form, easy.
All I can recommend is to kill those tanks as fast as possible with your destroyers, and fry anything Thunderwolf.
Your 'Nids player will be hard pressed with JoTWW killing his MCs, so make sure that if he is coming in with his Trygon, that the Trygon stays AWAY from the priest with it.

+1 Str for like 5 points? To autocannons or assault cannons? Hell yea. Then the Reinforced Aegis upgrade for free AND the ability to ignore stunned shaken.. pretty much for free..
Other Dreadnaughts should just go somewhere and be a toaster.
Mattieu~~~~ It's not that eldar are bad, it's that they require a lot of intergration between units. Also, that doesnt prove anything other than GW has a huge hard-on for marines, and, given the option between making a xeno the best psykers or making a marine the best psyker, they will 9 times out of 10 choose the marine.

Wow I never realized my team was THAT much in the hole before we even started.
@Joske: Destroyers to eat marines? I was thinking more along monoliths to eat marines while destroyers mop up transports.
@LordWynne: The thing is that I always thought any SM faction especially SW would be nasty in CC so avoiding it from the cron side would be for the best.
@Footsloggin: JoTWW? Is that a force weapon because we have Shadow in the Warp to counter those.

Negative. It is a psychic power where the Rune Priest will draw a line, I believe its 24 inches but don't quote me, my dex isn't here. Anything on the line will have to pass an initiative test or be destroyed(Not vehicles). The problem for nid players is that for MCs they take it at -1. He can have up to 4 Rune Priests.
