Sooo.. odd question came up recently.


Tomb Kings never need worse than a 5 to hit.

Lore of Metal has a spell that gives me +1 to hit with shooting.


Does this mean I still need 5's because of my crappy BS or does the +1 come into play after rolling, meaning I need 4's?

The spell does NOT add 1 to my BS, only +1 to my dice rolls while shooting.

Arrows of the Asp states that a Tomb Kings army never counts any penalties or bonuses to hit.

In this case, you wouldn't count the bonus to hit.

Word of Pain makes your BS1, that would make them hit on 6's right? (not a to hit modifier, it modifies BS).

Any spells that increase BS instead of giving a bonus/re-rool to hit?

Where did you find this rule? The only thing I see in the codex is Arrows of the Asp.

So if a TK has their BS modified, they will fire with whatever that modified BS gives them to hit.

Suffering no penalties or bonuses means a TK will never be penalized for shooting after moving, standing and shooting, or any other modifiers to the roll. They will also not benefit from shooting at a large target, or the lore of metal spell.

Lehnsherr and nos have this one right.

In normal situations, TK's hit on 5's (BS2 and all that). However, as pointed out by Lenhsherr, the rule states that bonuses and penalties to shoot are ignored. Changes to BS (not modifiers to Hit) still affect what you need to roll for successful hits.

Ah, ya I thought that might be gone Hover, just didn't bother to check it. It was the only bonus I could think of off the top of my head.
