So, now that AT-43 is officially dead and we're down to die-hards finishing collections and attempted newcomers scrambling desperately to find basic, sold-out units (my deepest sympathies to anyone who wants to play UNA), when will Dakka be changing the name of this forum back to "other sci-fi games?"

I've been glad to see AT43 fans doing a good job keeping this particular non-GW section of the forum active. However, now that the game is commercially dead (hopefully it will live on amongst the fans) and only 7 of the 40 or so threads on the first page are AT43 related, it seems pretty obvious that it's about time.

I say leave the name as it is.

Just because something died doesn't mean anything associated with it needs to have its name changed . . . . . . . . . . If that was the case there are a whole lot of streets that need to have their name changed because the person they are named after has died.

I think Cairnius will have a hard time paying for things if he refuses to use money with pictures of people on it who are no longer among the living.

And so on, and so on. . . . . . .

In fact, we should re-name this forum "AT-43, Starship Troopers, Warzone & Other Sci-FiGames".

Time to change the forum name. AT-43 is dead. Long live its spiritual successor, DUST Tactics. Maybe. Haven't played it yet, but it looks like what AT-43 ought to have been...although I hear the plastic is still too soft...

Seems to me the point isn't what it was, but what it is and will be. Does the current title reflect this forum currently is or describe what it will be?

I would venture to say that AT43 is not, and will likely not in the future be the main focus of this forum. AT-43.co.uk, seems to have already established a place where AT43 will be the focus. Also, those looking for non-GW 28mm gaming in the future will likely not have AT43 as their main frame of refference.

I think that "Other 28mm Sci-Fi games" or somesuch should be the title. AT43 could be perhaps in the subtitle, but at this point there's really no reason for it to be in the main title.
