Possessed Khorne Marine Covered in Spikes

On a hate rampage.

So I had an email from GW a while back saying something about new Blood Angel units. Am I going insane or are they bring them out??
Thanks!

Yes, they're being released in febuary.

They're releasing the Stormraven (Chibihawk), Furioso (Dreadnought Kit #5) and a new Blood Angel Battleforce (Like The SM Battleforce, But Worse Value). IOW, not much to look forward to.

*sigh* I wish they'd go ahead and bring out more non marine related kit. I would absolutely love a Daemons of Chaos battleforce, I mean this'll be what, the 4th/5th marine related battleforce?!

Not unless they do one per god, and release enough kits to fill those out.

A DC Dread with blood claws would be nice, too.

Could do a undivided one, much like the CSM battleforce.

Just pop in some PBs, Blood letters, horrors and possibly some bloodcrushers/other larger sized goodie.

I think it'd be a pretty good idea but thats just my two cents.

Daemons don't really do Undivided like CSM do. If they swapped out the Bezerkers for some Terminators, the CSM battleforce could represent worshippers of any god or all of them. Daemons can't do that: Plaguebearers are always aligned with Nurgle, Bloodletters are always aligned with Khorne, Daemonettes are always aligned with Slaanesh and Horrors are always aligned with Tzeentch. The only truly Undivided units in the Daemons army are the Heavy Support choices: Daemon Princes and Soul Grinders.

Actually if they did one it would probably focus on Khorne and Nurgle since they seem like the favored two.

The dread has parts for Furioso, Death Company and Librarian Dreads, as well as all weapon options (including the ones that make you scratch your head and wonder why they even bothered to put it in the Codex, like the Frag Cannon or whatever the hell it's called).

Because its a shotgun, shotguns are kind of cool and Matt Ward wrote it?

I'm kind of glad he didn't just call it the Blood Cannon.

We'd need some plastic Nurglesque Daemons first.

Not that that's a bad thing!

This happens with nearly all codex releases, they have a phase one and phase two release. The same happens with warhammer army books.

Glad you said 'nearly'. The FAQ that Tyranids got at the exact same time as Cheese Angels despite being released over a half year earlier was actually an improvement over this current crap. Almost a third of the Tyranid codex does not exist in any model at all, but the Blood Angels get their second wave first. Yet another kick in the balls if you decide you want to play anything that isn't another color-swapped pack of dudes in power armor.

Because it is much much much easier for GW to make Marines, they can take the blanks that the original sculptor made, and modify them for use as the new unit.
With tyranids, they have to sculpt the entire model, in 3-up form, from scratch, as well as all concept work and possibly re-doing the design if it gets rejected, which is less likely with the SM as there is already a common image of what the stuff looks like (apart from the stormraven).

So they could have been working on Nids V2.0 since immediately after the codex came out, but it will take much longer for the models to be produced due to the extra work needed.

Beat me too it.

I was just wondering the same thing as I read this thread.

800 brethren and 2,000 other personnel were expected to reach Crows World within no more than 12 hours. They never arrived.

Wait, you're telling me they actually have to make product corresponding to what they put in a book! OH NOES!

Come on, I like GW, but they are pretty bad at putting out new models... Reaper mini's are constantly putting new ones out for other table top games and aren't slowing down, but to get GW to make 4-6 new ones is almost like pulling teeth.

No one knows. It should be:

10 Tactical Marines
5 Assault Marines
5 Death Company
Furioso Dreadnought

It will probably be:

10 Tactical Marines
5 Death Company
Furioso Dreadnought

FRGT/10 thinks it's going to be:

10x Tactical
5x Assault
5x Death Company
Rhino

IOW, you swap 5 Tactical marines and 5 scouts for 5 Death Company, and that's assuming GW doesn't put a higher price tag on this one.

It's definately gonna get a higher pricetag, as all new battleforces do.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.
