I'd say orks as IMO they are most focused at combat. All the others can wield whole armies made just for shooting. I don't think in an of my years have I seen a gun line ork list.

Hey why isn't the IG in there? Ailaros for example constantly beats the crap out of other armies in close combat with the Guard xD CC blobs are quite effective
But I guess from the ones listed there I voted Blood Angels, yes Orks Tyranids and Khorne Chaos are also very good in CC, but come on, hundreds of fnp furious charge space marines with power weapons and insane melee ICs. They pack quite a punch^^

I did, as a joke. It's a stupid question and I gave a stupid answer. For a more serious answer I'd guess Blood Angels for their balance of being generally good at combat and good at getting into combat.

In all fairness he does not seem to "constantly win" and most of his opponents play subpar lists at best. That said, blobs are far from useless. The best CC army there would probably BA or Orks.

I cannot believe in a God who wants to be praised all the time.

There is a difference between best cc focused army and best at cc. Nids/orks/deamons are the best at cc, but their overall army has dificulty against the mass mech that is the metagame so the title goes to ba until gk are released.


Chaos isn’t a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail, and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some are given a chance to climb, but refuse. They cling to the realm, or love, or the gods…illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is, but they’ll never know this. Not until it’s too late.

Personally Id say its a close one between Nids/Orks/BA from that list. A couple big ass blobs of gaunts shredding on your sucks, I know Orks kick ass on the assault, and Ive yet to play against BA but they seem like they do the job well enough.

I've played gunline orks. Max lootas, cannons, and shoota boys with big shootas. Mix in with some buggies... and you have a shooting oriented list that still has CC ability.

As for CC prowess, I voted DE, even though they often hit like girls, they have some really nasty CC units that can easily get FNP and worse. Anybody on the wrong end of an incubi or bloodbride charge can attest to how nasty they can be.

As much as I love DE, they're not the best when it comes to melee. They can beat the best in melee, if you play them right, since a big part of what makes their melee great is their ability to significantly weaken some of the nastiest CC enemies, with shardnets, agonisers, and 4++ saves, leaving them slightly ahead, but much cheaper than what they're slightly beating.

I voted Daemons, simply because point for point they're absolute monsters in melee. They have to be, due to the whole "almost no ranged capability whatsoever, oh yeah and you have to deepstrike right next to the enemy so you're probably going to lose a good chunk of your army right off the bat, so whatever survives has to be much more powerful than its points to be balanced" thing. Even against a heavily mechanized meta, they have screamers, soul grinders, screamers, fiends, greater daemons, screamers, daemon princes, and screamers.

I chose Orks. As the OP asked for nothing other than a selection I shall not deign to explain my choice any further.

Seriously, why is this thread here? There's no purpose behind it other than to collate imperfect opinions through the use of a poll and even on this basis it fails; as it doesn't give the voter every army as an option, merely a selection of what the OP *thinks* the best CC army is.
