Hai its me again, im starting a new project with my dad at the moment, for his sake and mine, and for any of you that live in england and have been to nottingham (home to one of the best gaming boreds ever at the hq) you will have a rough idea what im on about.
anyway i need some help with conversions, i plan to the best of our ablitiy to make a battle board based on nottingham city center, more importantly the council house plaza being the focal point, being an offical (and also having a ww2 military bunker 13 storys deep [very cavie area]) building as well having a church close by, personally i think this would make a perfect setting for a 40k battle bored, with multipul streets crisscrossing making it a wonderful place for a citys of death battle, BUT!
heres the problem, my heads not working and i need help with some conversions
ive worked out the average gaurdsmen is about 5ft 10 (average male height) and being
1 1/4" tall (just measured and not including the base), and im planning on doing about a sqaure mile (we have enough hardwood for the job) maybe a lil shorter, just depends, since the plaza its self is about 900ft long irl (working with google map averages so dont fault me please)
i know a mile might be a lil big but i really want to include the church, street, house and i must admit my fave store in nottingham, waterstones and with the boards ive got its easy enough to slot them together or take apart if i want a smaller battle.
you might think im mad, well i am depending upon who you talk to ^^ but i dont be using that much citys of death, most of the buildings are quite close together (limiting tank movements [not all] making troops ideal) so big chunks ill just use small lightweight box's stacked or have a "collasped" effect to them.
*edit* 900 ' = 274.32 m so maybe not a mile, prob about 6-800x6-800
