How would you take characters from the IG codex and turn them into Traitor characters either by counts as, concept or fluff wise?

Like if I took Knight Commander Pask I'd call him "The Parasite" and represent him as a character that has actually fused with his Leman Russ.

Straken I would say could be a worshiper of Khorne with similar implants to World Eaters hence his special rules or maybe a Space Marine Scout who turned traitor before finishing his transformation.

I could see Marbo being "The Changeling" where he is like some shape shifting mutant who only follows the will of Tzeentch which explains why he dosen't take orders and the He's Behind You! rule since he would change shape to blend in with the enemy and get close to a commander.

I could see Yarrick being an Arch Traitor type character with his Aura of Discipline, Inspirational Hero and Iron Will rules representing his power with Eternal Warrior and Force Field being his protection given by the gods.

Chenkov would be a perfect Chaos character he just sends everyone to their death, maybe like a slave master.

How would you guys do the rest?

Since you arent changing rules or anything any of the characters are useable.

Creed you could keep the same, just that after years of campaigning in the name of the Emperor, he has realised the futility of of the Imperium, and has now led his Regiment away from Cadia, had other rebellious types join him, etc. and wage war in his own name, or the name of Chaos Undivided

No I know you could use any of them. this isn't really about changing their rules it's more how would you make them into counts as in terms of fluff and such. Like in the SM codex it talks about taking special characters and putting them into a successor chapter but just giving them a differant name and making a model to represent them but they are counts as. That's the same thing I'm talking about just for IG

Honestly, Straken could just be a Chaos Lord or Chaos Marine lieutenant leading an army. His stats aren't too far off.

A common way to portray Strakken would be to use a Chaos Lord or Kharn (given his S6 2D6 armor penetration). As for the lesser Platoon commanders, Harker = Iron Warrior cultist disciple, Chenkov = Cult leader, Al-Rahim = Cult Champion

I took a spare guardsman (I use the WGF Shock Troops), slapped some Chaos mutation sprue bitz on him, did some conversion, and called him Mutant Marbo. He's memorable, at least.

Straken, of course, is easy: you just use a CSM with the appropriate gear.

Iron Warriors - 4000 points (non-inflated, full FOC)
Black Crusade - 1500 points (non-inflated, led by Abaddon)
Jenen Ironclads (traitor IG/ABG) - 4000 points (non-inflated)

I'm actually planning some sort of taskmaster for Chenkov, leading hordes upon hordes of Mutants (representing Conscripts) into battle.

I just wanna field Lost and the Damned. Conscript Guard combined with cheap Tank rows seems to be the closest I'll ever get.

EDIT: LordWynne what codex are you using? Ibram Gaunt was taken out of the codex in the 5th edition.

I'd imagine that Al'Rahem would be a chaos sorcerer. Instead of coming off the flank because of his ability to stealthily infiltrate, he'd be coming in from the flank because he opened a rift in the warp, and all of his dudes flew out from their hiding place there and onto the battlefield. Likewise "like the wind" would represent him teleporting his units D6".

And Harker would totally be an obliterator in the making or something.

There's a Daemon Head upgrade piece on the Apocalypse Tank Command Sprue that would be perfect for the Daemon-count-as Pask, especially since it's the same size.

I took some inspiration from the Jailer boss in Darksiders when I had this idea in that I would use one of the zombie bodies from the WHFB Corpse Cart, put it coming directly out of the top of the tank (minus the latch) and then use GS to make it look as if his skin was spreading out across the top of the tank and then when painted have the color of the flesh fade into the color of the tank.

I love this thread so much, it got my creative juices going xB

So as it stands:

CREED and Kell - Apostate Preacher and Mutant Bodyguard
Nork Deddog - Big Mutant/Chaos Spawn
Strakken - Chaos Lord or CSM equivallent
Al Raheim - Cult Champion
Harker - Iron Warriors mechanicus Priest
Chenkov - Mutant taskmaster
Bastonne - Blood Pack Champion
Pask - Daemon

And let the Creed/Kell slash fiction begin!

On Topic:

I see Mogul Kamir as some follower of Khorne and Nork Deddog as a dimwitted demon of Nurgle. Taking it back a bit, Lord Commander Solar Macharius with his stat line and Master Strategist special rule could be a CSM Sorcerer of Tzeentch of some sort.

I could easily see Nork as some kind of deranged rat ogre style mutant. You could have him chained to his leader or have some kind of shock collar so he couldn't wander too far.

Yarrick i would do as some kind of gelatinous blob with bits of scenery and corpses trapped inside, maybe some tech to represent his weapons or a tentacle monster. I think this would fit well with his "can't be killed" nature. I wonder if you can have transparent models look good, like the idea of a guy being absorbed.

Al Rahem and his platoon would have to be made up to be some kind of sewer mutants, maybe even have some coming out of holes with lots of camo and things like skulls and trophies, very native looking.

Also slightly off topic but i was just thinking the deathstrike could be some kind of mobile altar with a ritual in progress, trying to create a warp rift instead of having a missile.

I can see Yarrick as a Chaos ork. His profile seems to fit (S3, Power Klaw, T4).

Al can be an Alpha Legion Cultist. They're taught in the ways of stealth and infiltration.

Just curious but why Iron Warriors? The Dark Mechanicus would join anyone?

Pask - Daemon

If this is in referance to my idea it isn't for Pask to be a daemon? It's just that he was a Tank Commander who actually fused and became apart of his tank like a parasite or symbiote.

It was a reference to your idea. However there's a Daemon Tank accesory that looks like a Mechanical Defiler head. It fits perfectly in the Tank coupla and seems perfect as a Pask-count-as, as it has sensors and whatnot. check it out here: http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat440335a&prodId=prod770023a

As for Harker, Dark Mechanicum Priests are everywhere, but they're more associated with Iron Warriors than any other legion. And since Strakken will be represented by a marine (and both the original characters being catachans) it would fit (an Iron Warrior Warsmith leading a horde of his troops into battle, with Harker as his Dark Mechanicum Priest-lieutenant).

And back on topic, the Last Chancers from 3rd would be fun to do too. Probably fall under Chaos Undivided due to their individual "crimes" that got them there in the first place.

I'm aware of the bit, I own it. I'm just setting the record straight that a daemon possessing a tank actually wasen't my idea ya know?

I've never heard this since Iron Warriors woulden't need Dark Mechanicum Priests beings as they can do it all themselves. But hey if you want yours to be Iron Warriors go for it
