Has anyone had any issues with getting your foam trays to sit side by side? Mine are so snug and i essentially have to force the foam in,and then it compacts along the edges essentially loosing space.

Yes, Sabol cases are too tight for their trays.
What I did was I stuffed my case full of pillows and left it for a couple of weeks to stretch out.

I didn't have any fitting issues with my Motorpool.
I kind of liked the look of the Armoured Company though. Out of curiosity though, is the fitting problem with or without the hard side inserts?

Would you rather them be too lose? Regradless it's not too much work at all pushing them in, though it helps to do it one to two at a time, or you can always get that special mark 2 one that you can load/unload from the side.

This is what I did but with un-plucked Sabol trays instead of pillows. I filled each of my Armored Company bags with trays for a few days and let the bags conform to the shape of the trays. After the bags had expanded a bit I replaced the trays with my miniature-filled trays and had an easier time fitting everything inside.
I think it is a combination of the folded bag and the "armored" panels that creates the problem in the first place. Once the bag has enough time to settle into place it works fine.

Yes. Then I would only need to add some padding once instead of mashing my miniatures every single game night. But I suppose "just right" would be too much to ask for? This is not a budget product.

I had the same issue with mine...I decided to leave out the armor panels for now, as the trays fit better without them and it's not like they are really needed when I'm just carrying the thing between my house, the car, and the store where I play. I'll have to try the stretching technique, though!
