This is not a thread to discuss the strategic and tactical value of the models mentioned in the poll.

This is a simple gathering of information.

Should you feel the desire to post anything, please let it be to mention another model whose rules are so terrible that GW wouldn't sell any of their models.
Do you have a strong urge to disagree with the input of other users, please shut up, press alt-F4 or start another thread somewhere else.

Anybody who, for the life of them, cannot keep it in their pants, will be scorned and their intelligence will be called into question. You have been warned.

Aun'va's rules are just too bad, and the model isn't that great, in my opinion.

Aun'va's rules are just....confusing...to say the least. The model's not half bad. The Pyrovore does have some use as a suicide sniper hunter (great against Rattlings and Pathfinders) and as a suicide bomb (due to acid blood). However I use the Pyrovore as a Biovore (the clerk actually sold it to me thinking it was a biovore, until I corrected him) since the Pyrovore's slot is occupied by Zoans and Hive Guards.

Two models I can think of that should go on the list would be the Lictor and Flesh Hounds. Warhounds are much better (and cheaper) in representing flesh hounds, I dont know why they had to make the lizard/piranha cross thingy, and to make it metal.

I pressed alt+F5 like you suggested, but nothing happened. While I'm posting this I'm also shutting up, but I'm still gonna suggest via text that you dial down the liquid rage you must be drinking every morning...

That being said, I actually own the Aun'va model (and 5 different Ethereals), but not because of the stats. I simply own him because who doesn't wanna own the Pope Mobile? But he actually sees table time sometimes, as we often use him as an Apoc objective, since everyone loves to claim some Space Pope of Doom for their army!

Possessed I would put on here. It's not that their rules are so bad, it's just that you should never have to flip a coin in your list building.

I don't play nids, but I play tau.

However, floating space pope that dies easily and causes most of my army to become useless or even better fall off the table and helps my horrible in melee tau stay in melee so I can't shoot next turn? No thanks.

I'm real big on fluff over powergaming, but even I won't take aun'va

Both have excellent miniatures, but too bad rules. Early rumours say that ethereals might get useful in the next Codex. I use the pyrovore as a biovore.

Pyrovore isn't too bad, and I just got it so I haven't tried it yet. Guess I'll find out soon.

That would be why you say he isn't too bad, you haven't used him yet. You are half right though, he's not too bad. He's worse. In an elite slot.

Only reason I even own the model is because I swear I thought it was a Biovore. I would never have voluntarily paid for a model that terrible.

Maybe that was intentional in the design and naming? ;3

My guess is that during sculpting, the unit concept changed from artillery to the current rules. Otherwise the look doesn't make sense.

No, I haven't used it myself, but I have heard many arguments on other posts that it is useful in some ways, mostly linked to planet strike games. Where as the space pope has had next to zero arguments as to him being useful. Plus, I think pyrovore makes a really cool looking biovore.

The Space Pope makes them more likely to hold the line from shooting casualties. That's the only perk he has. He costs quite a bit of points, will also make your units stay in close combat (which the Tau really should choose to break off from) and prettymuch cripples your army if he's killed. His cons outweigh his pros so much that he's gone beyond a joke character.

Space pope is such a horrible, horrible model (what the hell is up with those guards¬¬). If I were to, for some odd reason, use him it'd be as a proxied model.¬¬

I doubt he's even a good for proxying either. he's not a pretty model IMO.

I like it actually. He seems to be an awesome objective marker (indeed his rules seem to make him into a forced Objective).

People on this forum will argue that the sky is neon green and the ocean is dry. Does not mean they're correct. Until people attempt to argue situations that are so insanely specific to exactly him under such laughably perfect circumstances that the argument is not even worth considering he has nothing going for him, and even in those specific situations he's outdone by other stuff in the army leaving him with absolutely nothing going for him.
