So I've been gallery mod for a few months and I ahve to say people are really good about staying on topic and not posting junk.

Even the number of images that are too blurry or dark to see has dropped.

HOWEVER!

Crooked images remain very common.

For love of the Space Emporer of Space, PLEASE have your images right side up when you post them. It takes literally a click of the mouse before you post but once they're posted I can't do anything to correct them.

As a matter of policy I disable voting but I'm thinking about starting to delete them. Because really no one should have to lie on their side to look at some stranger's painting on the internet. Crooked images really don't add to discussion or enjoyment.

FURTHERMORE!

Please don't go and vote 10/10!!!!! for your own images. Especially if you know in your heart they don't deserve it. It's painfully obvious when someone does because the page tells us who voted and if you're the only one...

If you want more feedback (and who doesn't) start a thread or post comments, don't treat your work like the second coming of Bobby Wong just to get in the top 10, if you deserve it you'll get there.

Thanks all!

For the love of the Emperor, folks, there is no reason to post a sideways image. Hit the darn rotate image button!

Oh and there's rarely any reason to post a black primed miniature. Grey or white primer maybe, unpainted, GREAT. But black primed models will ALWAYS come out as an indistinct black blob.

I have the sudden urge to post a black primed miniature sideways and vote it 10/10...

More seriously though, I have done the voting my own stuff 10/10 a few times to pop to the top of the gallery and see what other people vote on it. Doesn't usually work super well though since most often the first person to vote on it won't give it the same, and then it drops down, doesn't get more votes, and then you can't see what they voted on it anyways. I'd love it if the gallery would show the owner of an image what all the different votes it received were.

I see no issue with deleting incorrectly oriented images. If someone will not take the small amount of time to rotate an image the correct way, then it's clearly not important enough to warrant others seeing it.

But all my pictures are worth 10/10, especially this one:

I love the old "I am a Space Wolf" Andy Chambers pics. Phil Kelly should grow his hair and facial hair that way.

Upon seeing that picture of "Wolfman" Chambers I nearly fainted, good times. Phil has been trying to grow something like that, but has been failing ever since.

Well obviously I didn't mean you when I said that

And another thing, please do turn off voting if you don't have an actual model or bit of artwork in the picture.

Pictures of the paint you used, your desk, tools, a pile of bitz etc are fine, just remember to turn off voting.

Cheers.

Do you still delete material from the galley? What's the correct thing to tag them as to bring them to your attention? Several things are tagged with "delete" is this appropriate?

Yes. A lot of those are ones I've tagged, usually I put a comment on the image and leave it up for a bit, if I delete them right away the owner won't know why (unless I do a PM but then only 1 person gets the message).
