I got to thinking about some of my games recently and realised I tend to just blanket it with 4+ terrain (piece) saves perhaps the odd 5+.
I cant recall the last time I nominated a terrain piece as 6+ even though I actually have a few.

In general what % of your battlefields are made up of no save, 4, 5, 6+ ?
Do you find it makes a big difference if theres more variation or one type of save laid down? Im so used to it I really take for granted that a lot of units have a 4+ save which is ludacris when I think about it

I've added a very basic poll 'cuz everyone loves polls.

We use more 5+ cover most of the time, a decent amount of 4+ but very little 6+... might have to change that in the future...

Me neither. It only applies to things like areas of long grass, light fences and so on. It's much easier to get 4+ cover saves from intervening units.

It is a bigger problem that most people don't put enough cover of any type on their tables.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

The guidelines in the BRB are crap. We play most things (small walls, craters, hill inclines) as 5++, only the ruined building gets 4++. We plan that any bunkers of fortifications will have 3++.

Thats it, anything else is rubbish.

Oh, and other units also only provide a 5++ save.

High invunerable saves just mean high armour units hiding behind cover as if they were orks or guard.

It creates the wrong look and makes all armies play the same.

I usually play urban warfare battlefields, so lots of 4+ cover saves.

Ask yourself: have you rated a gallery image today?

Same here.

I do agree that it causes all armies to play the same in a lot of respects. i would expect this to go away next edition, or at least a reduction to a standard 5+ instead.

800 brethren and 2,000 other personnel were expected to reach Crows World within no more than 12 hours. They never arrived.

We regularly use +4 terrain, since we don't exactly have that much to represent other terrain atm, however that's changing in the coming months.

we use pseudo-urban settings (mostly destroyed fortifications, downed ships and the like) which we all agreed should have a 4+ due to their sturdy built nature.

We pretty much nominate everything as 4+ cover, it keeps the game moving that way.
