Read somewhere that the skyray contains all the bits you need for the hammerhead as well, is this the case still?

Yes the skyray contains the necessary for a devilfish, a hammerhead with either gun, and the skyray addons. Buy them by the truckload for the tau army!

I think it does have the bitz because the Hammerhead sprue contains the pieces needed to make the burst cannons on the side of the Skyray. Doing a little googling found out that it's essentially the Hammerhead box, with a skyray sprue. However some of the other forums also mentioned that it somehow cannot make the Devilfish.

If my memory serves the only difference is the front nose mounted turret only has the optics piece and no burst cannon addon, however anyone who has piranhas with fusion blasters has those bits lying around. There's some guide for magnetizing the front very easily around the web somewhere.

Then again, if your not playing tourney, having the nose being the optics instead of a burst cannon should be easy enough for other players to accept, after all there's nothing but the hatch on the vehicle, no gun or missile rack, what else could the damn thing be?

The other thread mentioned something about lacking the gun drones too. Although any Tau player should have at least two extra gundrones lying around from FW boxes and Battle suit kits.
