I have always brought my figures from friends pre-painted but I now want to paint them myself I decided to paint my army of Tau primary: black and secondary: sunburst yellow. I put the under coat on which I used for the black I then paint them with the sunburst yellow but a day or two later the sunburst yellow fades away and turns in to a very ugly greenish thingie please guys/girls I need help.

What brand paint are you using, and what are you painting under the sunburst? Needs to be a very light foundation paint first if you are priming black.

I don't know what brand it is because I just finished with it so I threw it out but tomorrow I'll be getting more of it so I can answer your question then. And all I'm doing is putting the under coat on and then paint it useing the sunburst yellow.

Yellow is going to not cover black very well, which is likely why when it dries you are seeing the black through it.
Get some foundation yellow colour from the games workshop range if you want to paint Yellow over Black well, or prime it white and paint the black by hand, but thats a lot more effort.

I don't recommend yellow over black ever. If you are making yellow the primary color, prime white and hand paint anything that needs a black base.

Dheneb Stone (foundation) makes a very good base for yellow.
