Just got some marines and decided to go blood angels, feel free to comment/critique this first attempt at a 1500 point list:

HQ - Reclusiarch with infernus pistol/jumpack - 170 (going to attach him to an assault squad)
Troops - Assault Squad (x2) - 10 marines, infernus pistol, storm shield - 225 each, so 450 total.
Death Company - 10 marines, LandRaider as a transport - 450
Death Company Dread - with drop pod - 160
Elites - Chaplain to go with Death Company - 115 with infernus pistol
Fast Atttack - Baal Pred with HB - 145

I believe that comes out to 1490.

The idea is to start out with the LR and pred on the field and deep strike the rest in to the necessary locations.

Not worried about the reserves coming in piece meal?

I have tried some similiar lists in "just for fun "games. If they drop in when you want them to is pretty effective. When they drop in piece meal it can be turn ugly for you pretty quick lol. Just a heads up Good luck and have a blast

works well keep the the preds in cover and same goes for vindi . liby has shield and unleash rage cast shield in opponents shooting turn and unleash rage when you assault yes you can do that works well and gets stuff killed. Im sure you can figure out how to use this. Good luck

You don't need a Reclusiarch and a Chaplain. I suggest dropping the Reclusiarch for a libby w/ jump pack. Assault squads should have a powerfist and your chaplain. Instead of a Land Raider, think about a Storm Raven instead for your dreadnought and your 10 death company and chaplain andyou can invest in Sanguiary Priest.

All good suggestions, I really wanted to put a couple priests in there, but could not find the space for them. I am hoping that the scattered deep striking will be diminished by descent of angels, but it can certainly be a problem.

I imagine that people field the priests as separate groups so they can attach to individual units as to take more advantage of blood chalice?

I guess I envisioned the LR to protect the death company until they can get up close to the enemy. Also using the LR to serve as some cover for the pred/dread in the early turns when they are not close enough to do much damage.

it's a small list. my plan is to have the lr be in front and mephiston behind it being flanked by 2 furioso librarians. the assault termis will deepstrike while the rest will just move 12" *hopefully* with wings of sanguinius for mephiston and the furioso libs until assault range.

Switch the expensive Reclusiarch for a Librarian with unleash rage, this power works in yours and your opponents assault phase

Don't need storm shield on Assault Marines, get double meltaguns as a single infernus pistol isn't going to do much.

One Drop Pod and a two armoured units will fail. Replace these with more jump infantry and you'll be doing good, drop the Death Co as well. Failing that get more armour but ditch the Drop Pod at least.

mercer, I am curious as to why you would drop the Death Company. Combined with the Chaplain (reroll hits/wounds) they seem very dangerous in shooting and assault phases. I like the other suggestions, they make sense for better point usage. Pointwise I could replaced the Death Company/LR/Chaplain with 2 more full assault squads, but the Dreadnought and Predator would get hammered before the rest of the army arrived via deep strike.

Death Co with a Chaplain is cool no doubt, but that Chaplain is 100 points extra and Death Co aren't cheap plus they do not score either, bummer.

I think you can get away with just the LR and pred on the board at the beginning.. Use of Terrain should allow them a cover save. Depending on who you're fighting.. I doubt they'll be popped turn one.

You cant play BA without priests thats the what you really need and you dont need a LR unless you have terminators
