Hard to tell detail from the distance of the shots (need some close ups), but the painting looks good from here. Just curious, why rainbow?

From a distance, the force looks good, but it's hard to see details, particularly the rainbow striping that seems to be the hallmark of that chapter.

If your camera has a macro button (http://www.autodatalabels.com/images/macro-button.jpg) looks like that.

Use it, helps to picture smaller details

They don't look very rainbow-y. But they do look good.

For you young whippersnappers questioning why rainbow warriors aren't a multicoloured dazzlefest, it's because they are an old chapter of marines, from the Rogue Trader times about 22 years ago...

Love it! The galaxy always needs more rainbow warriors.

Your kidding right? They look like every picture of a Rainbow Warrior Ive ever seen.

Never seen someone actually paint an army of them though so thats a first, and they look pretty good to me man. What codex you use for them, Vanilla?

I'd say they're better than standard tabletop from the later pictures, good work. And thanks to MGS for making me feel very, very old.

The Aztec Marines are back, full of awesomeness!

I really like what I've seen here. A nice use of all the lizardmen bits and a good paintjob.

Just kidding, of course. Your Rainbow Warriors do look great, which was a real surprise to me. I always thought they had to look like... well... super-soft-pink-pants-men. I take it you have been inspired by this guy's RW reimaginations. Is that correct?
Both he and you had some phantastic ideas about this long "lost" chapter.

Represent awesome. Awesome riding a great big giant dinosaur.

But seriously... I have no idea. I suppose a dread, at a push, provided it didn't have any ranged weapons? (Oh, and I know naff-all about SM armies, so I may well be talking out my grot...)

OH-I Wanna get out of here

+1 to great use of bits for conversion
+1 to being ballsy enough to do rainbow marines
+1 to them being quite well painted, and totally not super-soft-pink-pants-men

Are there more coming? Whats the story behind the EC shrine?

As a not so old follower of this 40k world i was assuming that i would see some funny clown lookin marines from the title but no they look quite good and still being able to use ultrasmurf colours but not have em actually ultrasmurfs is cool aswell.

Hey Whalemusic

I plan on a dread, predators and some jump troops and devastators to fill it out to 3000 points, as for the EC shrine, I use that rhino for bloodclaws, or assault marines with a Chaplin, So I though he would Have the Emperor shrine on his rhino. I just thought it would be cool, I do feel like the gold and Grey kinda offset each other, but I dont know if all stone would be better, especially since there is no real other grey in the army :(
