Have any of you made purchases from this website? Or more specifically, have any Australians purchased from them?
Their prices are sometimes almost 60% of the RRP here, I was thinking maybe it was a little too good to be true..

Most Australian Dakkites buy from Maelstrom Games. For GW products I wouldn't buy anywhere else. The huge price difference combined with the free shipping make them the ideal store. Their periodic sales are just icing on the cake.

I dunno, but when I check out Wayland for some CSM gear I want, they seem to be cheaper than Maelstrom, even with shipping. I've never bought from either, though, just considering it.

Its not too good to be true, GW is just has a massive markup in Australia no apparent reason. On top of that, from what I gather they don't seem to use any proper exchange rate conversion for NZ. Australian prices are miles above the equivalent US/UK prices and then to get the NZ prices they just take the Australian price, push everything up one or two price brackets and move on.
Aside from paint I buy everything from Maelstrom now, 5+ orders over the last couple of years and never had a problem. As long as you don't mind waiting a couple of weeks (can be a bit longer if you order uncommon out of stock stuff) on average you end up paying about half the local retail price. Most of the guys I play with are in the same boat, GW stuff is too expensive here and almost everyone buys things from the US or UK because its just so much cheaper.

As it stands with a strengthening in the Pound, its now cheaper to buy from American discount retailers than British.

Hardly.
A Tactical Squad from the US is AUD$37. Assuming a 10% discount that's AUD$33. A Tactical Squad from Maelstrom Games is AUD$33.
Now go add shipping to the US order. Not what I'd call 'cheaper'.

I made a purchase from them purely because they had all the things I wanted in one place.
They processed the order on a Monday bank holiday then dispatched it on Tuesday. Second class mail only goes so fast and I received it on Saturday.
They seem very good and I'll be ordering again.

I get a 25% from American Discount retailers for 40k. And order over 100USD and get free shipping, its worth it.
Fire Prism = 49.50USD > $37.12AUD with discount
Maelstorm Fire Prism 27.67GBP > $44.36AUD

Battleroad games offers free shipping with orders over 100USD worldwide (only 75USD for inside America). Which works out for me, I place large orders usually so I easily make the 100USD mark.

Maelstrom is the reason I started this hobby again after 15 years. Ka-Ching!
Just bought some airbrush paints and norm paints. Took a while but it was the xmas rush period. Im happy. Even paints work out cheaper.
Have also bought a ton of mini's, more paint and a book!!

I've ordered form them many, many times, and apart from a few little niggles, never had any real problems.
I buy pretty much exclusively from them online, as I can get all I want from the same place, and earn cash back while doing it!
