Anyone have any experience any problems porting their army roster pdfs to a kindle? Mine will never display the first page.

Try this out:

Seems like it would work. I don't own one so I can't be sure.

If I give you a cookie, will you go away? If I give you the bag, will you go far, far away?

If you have the ability to print to PDF you should be able to just print your list to a PDF file, then transfer it to kindle either via wifi or the docking cable.

Yeah Wolflair army builder lets you save as PDF but when you transfer it to your kindle and view it the first page doesnt display except for like the first 2-3 lines.

Have you tried printing to PDF rather than saving as PDF?

I don't have army builder, so I can't test it. I have doPDF v7 if you wanted to download a PDF printer and try it out.

Appreciate the feed back. Would be interesting to see what the guys at army builder end up saying. it is terribly annoying that the army builder PDFs are the only files that do not work properly when viewed on the kindle.

Makenshi,

I have emailed the people over at Wolfair to see if a solution exists. Hopefully i will have a solution to post in the next few days.

So here is what the folks over at Wolfair were able to tell me.

"Army Builder outputs standard PDF files that can be read by all standards-compliant PDF file readers. I assume you have no problems viewing the PDF in your web browser or adobe acrobat reader?

We've had reports of our PDF files not being readable on the Kindle before; unfortunately, when we contacted Amazon to attempt to resolve the issue, we were informed that we would have to purchase a kindle ourselves before we could talk to their technical support about our PDFs not showing up. :(

I recommend contacting Amazon technical support with the PDF, and asking them why a PDF that is apparently valid does not display properly on the Kindle."

Not very considerate of Amazon but oh well.

Makenshi,
I did manage to find a solution through an independently created program called PDFread. It essentially turns PDF files into a picture format that is compatible with e-readers. Not perfect but it is workable.
