Craig (Croggy on Dakka Dakka) came round for a game and to test his new Ork list, a Kan wall which I had written him. I'd also be trying out
Devs again in replacement of Vindicators along with added inferus pistols.

* Note Blood Angels are using Guardsmen as proxy Devastators. Orks are using Hive Guard as Killa Kanz along with a old Kan model and Sentinels. Deff Dreads are the Daemon Prince, or Daemon Dreads!

Deployment
I lost the roll off and Craig deployed first putting his walkers up front and Boyz behind, he deployed a squad of Lootas along with the Gretchin on his objective and the other two units of Lootas in the tower ruin.
I deployed my Angels keeping Razorbacks close to be in shield range with my objective in a ruin behind me - the little flag. The
Devs were camping in the shrine ruin.
* Tactical Notes
No doubt Craig will scout his Deffkotpers and try and tackle something, so my plan would be to use melta on those to instant death them once they come by - I'm expecting some damage from them but will wait and see. I'll go for the Lootas with the Devs dropping frags and hopefully force morale so they run off, I'll use the lascannons on the Kanz probably as they make the bulk of the defensive wall and are easier to pop being armour 11 and in squadrons, once Kanz have taken a beating I'll move onto the Deff Dreads - dccw are not good for Marines!
Turn 1
Craig turbo boosts his Kopters towards me in the scout moves.
Craig moves his massive mob forward using the walkers as cover.
Shooting Craig unleashes his Lootas rolling a 6 for all three units getting 15 shots per unit! Between them they destroy three Razorbacks! Another Razorback gets stunned some how too.
In assault one Kopter moves in on a Razorback and destroys it.
Ok, my turn. I move both Honour Guard through terrain, one into the shrine ruin and one to the ruin of the right of my deployment, I'll use these as counter units later. Some melta squads shift about.
Shooting I unleash all three operational lascannons and all miss! I fire meltas at the Deffkopters, one is dusted but the other meltas fail to wound which leads for the flamer Honour Guard to shoot at it and the Kopter loses a wound.
Devs fire frags at Lootas on the objective ruin and tower ruin, Lootas on the objective take 25% damage but pass morale while the other squad only loses a single Loota.
In assault the flamer Honour Guard charge the Kopter and kill it, they consolidate back into terrain.
* Tactical Notes
Ok that was a really bad and crippling first turn for me. Razorbacks make my army and I lost three of them in the first turn and another was stunned. Throw in the remaining lascannons failed to hit. The Kopters died but it was a more struggle than I wanted thanks to poor hits and poor wound rolls. Pants. The Devs also didn't kill as many Lootas as I liked either.
Plan next turn is to keep doing what I am doing.
Turn 2
Craigs horde comes forward some more...
Shooting Lootas and rokkits take out another Razorback and scoring weapon destroyed and immobilised on another. Rokkits from the Kanz fire at the
Devs and kill a single Marine.
My turn, I pull squads back as Craig can possibly get a charge in next turn.
Shooting I manage to shake a Deff Dread and wreck a single Kan with some krak missiles that's about it.

Well that was a quick turn and another Razorback down along with a lascannon from another. I've got three Razorbacks left and only two of them have lascannons to tackle any walkers from a distance, it's not going well here...
Turn 3
Craig comes running forward at me now still keeping his wall formation.
Shooting Lootas open up another two Razorbacks leaving just one remaining.
My turn I move the melta units out along with a flamer unit ready to charge and blast walkers.
Shooting meltas from the Honour Guard blast the shaken Deff Dread, it lives on. Melta fires at two Kan units and scores weapon destroyed on the unit with only two Kanz, I take
dccw as I'm going to get charged next turn and the other unit takes the same result.
I try to charge a flamer squad but they're 1" out of assault range, bummer.
* Tactical Notes
All I can say is this has now gone down the gakker. My units held back for counter assault couldn't make it into the fight and meltas have failed to wreck walkers. Next turn I will be mass assaulted by walkers and Boyz and will go down like a sack of spuds. Not being a defeatist, but this game is practically over :(
Turn 4
Craig moves in ready to assaulting, he also calls a Waaagh! to be on the safe side.
Shooting Lootas take out the last Razorback, none left.
Assault Deff Dread piles into flamer Honour Guard in the shrine ruin, only two Marines remain. Boyz and Kanz pile into a melta squad and leave only the Sgt who passes morale. Two units of Kanz pile into Marines, combat remains on as the other Deff Dread piles into a flamer Assault Squad as Boyz pile into the melta Honour Guard, Librarian dies and two normal Honour Guard snuff it.
I can't remember what I shot the
Devs at this turn...
Combat just the Priest is left after the other Librarian gets instagibbed, combat remains. Solo Sgt attacks the Big Mek but dies in the end. A unit of Kanz flatten a squad while the other Kanz remain in combat. Deff Dread stays in combat and the Honour Guard hold the Boyz off a little longer. I charge the squad on the objective at the Deff Dread just to slow it down, two Marines left.

Turn 5
Little or no movment from Craig.
Lootas blast a
Dev squad making it fail morale and fall back 6" down the shrine ruin.
In assault Deff Dread pans the solo Priest, Kanz assault the falling back
Devs and kills the two survivors, other two Kanz unit kills Marines and cosolidate onto the Angel objective. Deff Dread kills the squad which just charged it and the Boyz finish off the Honour Guard squad.
Orks firmly win with my having a single
Dev squad left.
Summary
Well that was perhaps the worst receiving end I've had in a game for a long long time, perhaps ever actually. I think I killed about 6 Boyz, wounded a Big Mek, shaken a Deff Dread, wrecked a Kan and kill 3 Lootas - extremely crap dice rolling :( . Not very good at all.
Only mistake is my deployment looking back. I should have deployed using the shrine as a benefit hiding Razorbacks behind it, that means the Lootas couldn't shoot them and the Deffkopters wouldn't be able to reach them. After the turn 1 damage from Craig wrecking half my tanks and stopping one from firing one turn and then with my own crappy shooting hitting nothing the game was pretty much won already, it went from bad to worse when squads failed to blow up walkers with meltas and reach assault.
Looking back on the
Devs I think I'm going to swap them back for the Vindicators. The
Devs did very little this game and Vindicators add armour saturation, sure Vindicators get shot at first but they have armour 13 and yup if they get weapon destroyed they're useless but at least they will give cover to my Razorbacks and also stop my Razorbacks from being shot at.
Craig played a good game and got some awesome dice rolls through out the game, he just kept getting 5+ and 6+ all the time. He did well using Orks although he hasn't used them much, though to be fair, and not taking anything away from Craig a Kan Wall list isn't hard to use

. Craig did mention to me he might swap the extra
dccw on the Deff Dreads to get double skorchas instead and also switch the shootas on the Boyz for sluggas and probably drop the rokkits and get another Deffkopter.
