New player here , I have heard playing either army requires q bit of experience . Money wise dark Eldar would be great but I like mechish Eldar alot . Any suggestions and gameplay advice would be appreciated

Probably go with the Eldar. They have less in terms of weird effects (so it's easier for you to get a hang for the game) and alot less squishy than their Dark Counterparts.

Well I own a Mechdar army, and I have played a few games vs the new Dark Eldar, and I'd say go with the Dark Eldar.

Their updated codex really fits into 5th edition well and they have amazing units and abilities!

The ELdar codex has some neat tricks and to be sure many beautiful models in a robust range but is generally plagued with 5th edition compatibility problems, like lack of invulnerable saves, poor HQs outside of ELdraad, common redundant army builds because of poor troop choices, and massive over redundancy of units as well as massive competition for the coveted heavy support slots.

Dark Eldar don't have those problems and most of their units are viable, their codex can produce a wide variety of viable armies having many different patterns, all of which would leave the owning player with a fighting chance and be generally capable, the Wyche Army, The portal Army, the mechanized raider army and other neat variants with Haemonculi and Beastmasters all look pretty good on paper and in test games too!

Just be sure to carefully read the pain token rules and structure an army to play to the strengths of Dark Eldar, there are several recipes for success!

You're welcome! Glad to break it out, that's was a very generalized review, there are some big Eldar fans on these boards who might think otherwise, do some research, read the codices and above all build and find out what YOU like!

Skarboy did some awesome work on them!

I haven't seen any grotesques yet, I had a concept to build them from fantasy battles models, but hadn't really coalesced that concept into anything specific yet.

Spawns are what most people recommend, but they're kinda expensive for my tastes.

D.E are better IMO, they have some charecter, I find craftworld eldar too bland...
