I have played several games against 40k chaos daemon players of late, and a couple of my opponents have used the plastic chaos spawn as stand-ins for heavy support daemon princes.

I've got no problem with this, but it's getting some of the other members of the club (some of whom have paid for the newer plastic prince) a bit annoyed.
What do you think dakka? Should spawn-princes be allowed onto our gaming tables?

Why must I always choose beween certain death and probable death.

If they can be built up enough to look large enough for daemon princes, sure. But typically the bodies are too small. What Chaos god are they devoted too? If khorne or even slaanesh, the Minotaurs from fantasy with a bit of conversions make EXCELLENT princes. And at 15 bucks a pop really.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

The sink.

Are the spawn princes on the right sized base? I think the DP goes on a 60mm round base now (same as a greater demon).

And look at the bright side, at least they are getting some use out of those crappy spawn models.

Yup, right sized base.
I think they're quite pretty. Almost cuddly. Wouldn't you like to hug Mr.armpit face? *sarcasm*

Base spawn, Hell no. Too short.
Built-up spawn? yes. Preferrably just a kitbashed DP with spawn parts

You can always use counts as models if you opponents agree, and in this case you may use the idea of knowing just how big a demon prince is when determining LOS. The model should be converted to a large enough size, but if the player is just trying out the unit before he buys it, then no biggy in my book.

I would let him as long as he wasn't using real spawn in his army too.

that way the only spawn model on the table is the deamon prince.

Spawns for Tzeentch Princes would be awesome. An alternative to the Sorceror Prince and Bird-princes I've seen. Just have him mount it on a 60mm with a large rock to compensate for size.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

When I'm editing alot, you know I have a gakload of homework to (not) do.
