Other then Calgar and Guilliman, are there any known Ultramarines Chapter Masters?

I don't know off the top of my head, but Gulliman isn't a chapter master, he's the primarch

I thought it to be an error by the op and that he meant captains. I dunno then. Calgar is really the only one talked about in anything then

Grimnar 700 years old though. The oldest chapter master in the fluff is Dante, and he's just over 1000 years old.

It's been 10,000 years since the Heresy - there's definitely been other chapter masters for every first founding chapter.

So you're positing the idea that the first founding chapters were leaderless since the primarchs disappeared until recently when they got their current chapter masters?

There have definitely been other masters since the primarchs disappeared. They just haven't been mentioned in the fluff.

Decon, Third Lord Macragge.

It also seems unfair not to mention poor old Cha Lee but, the less said about him and those other officers the best I suppose.

No No I wanted to say that, for example, Ultras got marneus and marneus only, SW got Lorgar, since the primarchs gone. But after dorn, BT got sigismund first and then helbrecht. I mean that. =)

Huh. I never even considered thinking of it like that. Common sense indicated he wanted to know about previous chapter masters.

Decon seems safe enough to stay in the Ultramarines background I would say. All we have are some quotes attributed to him so his presence as an historical figure seems alright although Calagar is upopsed to have taken command of the Chapter after Decon's death in 977.M41 so if he were only the Third Lord Macragge then he and the other two must have been incredibly long lived.

As for Che Lee and the other officers, they appeared in an old White Dwarf article (WD 97) detailing the Ultra-Marines. Cha Lee was the Ultra-Marines Lieutenant-Commander who effectively took command of the Chapter in battle after Marneus Calger's horrific wounding during battle against the Tyranids.

The entire article is pretty much irrelevant now due to more recent background completely re-writing the Ultramarines history.
