What determines the photo that is used when your thread is in the featured section. The reason I ask is that my thread gets updated pretty frequently and when it is the featured on the homepage the picture is old and not even one of mine. In fact the picture that appears was loaded as a comment from another Dakka user. I have disabled voting thinking maybe that would help but no luck. The photo should be of the last image I uploaded, correct?

It is the most recently attached photo or gallery embedded photo in the thread. Other people attaching or embedding unrelated images in your thread is poor form, but if they are showing something related to the content that is ok as it should be relevant alongside the thread title on the feature list. The point is to draw people to your thread, not show your work with a tiny thumbnail and it works well to that effect.

I understand and the picture posted was a great reference for my project. My issue is that I have uploaded multiple pictures of my work and none of them show up for the feature thumbnail picture. I love and want people who haven't seen my thread to jump over to see it because of a new picture of the progress I have made. I am confused as to how or why a picture loaded by another user ( that was totally warranted mind you ) about 12 posts ago still shows up as the thumbnail when I update!? I guess I am not all that concerned because I still have plenty of Dakka members reading and commenting, my question is why is this happening and how can I fix it

If you've posted a more recent post in the thread with an attached image or dakka gallery image (not photobucket or other hosts) it should be using your images in the homepage preview. Is it your cities of death log you are talking about? Might be something glitchy somewhere for some reason if it is still happening.

Yes it is my Cities thread. All images I post are through Dakka and no outside source. If it is a glitch or bug I can live with it, if fixing it may cause my thread to be closed or deleted! Thanks for your help though

If this helps the picture that keeps showing up is on page 12 of my thread and it is the last post made on the page, it is even the last picture on that page uploaded by niel101

When my stuff shows up on the Project Logs on the main page, it show some past image, and the one it tends to show is one of the higher voted images.
