Subject: Volcanic Lghtning - ongoing eruption near my old home in Japan
I don't think there have been any deaths due to this eruption, though I haven't taken the time to listen to the Japanese news reports properly. My Japanese is not what it once was. Luckily my friends are all far enough away they should not be in any danger at all.
Put those effects in a movie though, and people would go "yeahrite"
Though guards may sleep and ships may lay at anchor, our foes know full well that big guns never tire.
Oh wow. Neglected to read that part. I saw, "eruption" and some pretty pictures and pretty much glazed over everything else. I stand by my previous statement though. Awesome and terrifying.
It's called "St. Elmos's Fire" it's static electricity caused by the dust and ash rubbing against each other, much like in a normal thunderstorm, but at a much faster rate because there are more particles.
St Elmo's fire is a glow. This is actual lightning strikes. I imagine it is caused by valence electrons being freed more easily from their atoms due to the heat, causing a buildup of static, as in a normal thunderstorm, but much more easily thus allowing lightning to strike along the path of the hot cloud of ash, but not in the air around it.
Though guards may sleep and ships may lay at anchor, our foes know full well that big guns never tire.
Excellent. But as noted above, if you start hearing cheesy thematic music and live in Tokyo, leave quickly. Monsters have a thing for Tokyo. I wonder what Tokyo ever did to them?
-"Wait a minute.....who is that Frazz is talking to in the gallery? Hmmm something is going on here.....Oh.... it seems there is some dispute over video taping of some sort......Frazz is really upset now..........wait a minute......whats he go there.......is it? Can it be?....Frazz has just unleashed his hidden weiner dog from his mini bag, while quoting shakespeares "Let slip the dogs the war!!" GG
-"Don't mind Frazzled. He's just Dakka's crazy old dude locked in the attic. He's harmless. Mostly."
