Hey guys basically like the title says would it be possible to wield a power weapon inside a powerfist ?, I understand its impracticable as the powerfist would slow you down but what if the power weapon was pretty large like perhaps instead of a power sword a power claymore or sorts ?. This is mainly for my own 40k fanart , I just wanted to draw the most overpowered thing I could imagine and it was pretty much an artificed terminator with an iron halo, two powerfists with built in stormbolters near the knuckles and some kind of flamer mechanism built into the palms, and ofc a giant power claymore that when wielded by the power fists can somehow absorb the flamer fuel to ignite the blade so not only does it have a field of electric energy but its on FIRE.
Anyway Im just babbling so feel free to give me your opinion / any fluff reference's cheers.

I think that the magnetic fields or whatever that power the power fist and power weapon would cancel each other out, ruining both. Besides, powefists ignore armor just as well.

Allthough, it chanelling the fire sounds sweet I think it'll look clumsy being held by the giant hand, perhaps a weapon like the hidden blade in assassins creed, under the uber flamer.

It'll probably be fine...
I have been planning a Logan Grimnar conversion where he has a power fist holding a zweihander.

it all depends what kind of powerfist

some powerfists/claws are simple strong powered gloves that can apply more pressure than any armor can withstand

some have the powerfield that confuses the molecular structure of things like a power sword. I dont see holding a power sword with one of those to be a good idea.

Really big hand is capable of holding things like really big sword.
The real question is why wouldn't you do that?
And it can be used to represent a model that has both a power fist and a power weapon or some combination weapon e.g. Axe of Morkai (Although that's Grimnar's so it doesn't matter that much)

Dude. A really big sword would make you really unbalanced(ie. you would fall over and look like a tard'). A psychic neck snap is just that much more practical.

I think it'd work though depending on the pose so he doesnt look like he's in the process of falling over.

I always assumed that's how Calgar wielded his useless powersword.

I could see it. Modified powerfist with no fields so the marine can lift the sword. Fuel lines could connect to the sword, diverting fuel to the sword instead of the palms.

Another thing you could do would be a lightning claw thing, but with a single blade above each fist with could retract or extend.

This is 40k we're talking about... they will probably retcon gravity at some point for a more gimdark force.

The real question is since people used things like great swords and zweihenders(sp?) anyway...couldnt we make an even large and more insane sword for something that increases the super-human strength of a space marine to higher levels? How about a freaking rhino-sword that has to be wielded by two power fists!? Maybe the problem is we arent thinking big enough?

My thoughts exactly I was thinking alongside the aforementioned wargear in my op, some kind of thruster built into the back of the terminator armour (something that looks similar to the sanguinary guard jump pack), that propels the suit forward at high speeds (not enough to actually take of mind you). Just picture a dude being propelled towards you wearing terminator armor carrying a giant power claymore on fire thats crackling with energy that combines the momentum of the swing and the momentum of the propellant pack. Now thats some heretical technology right there .

When I played chaos many moons ago, my Lord had a powerfist holding a giant hammer. It looked really cool. So since this game is mostly about you showing off your cool guys, just friggin do it

Calgar in the SM codex has 2 powerfists with integrated storm bolters, and still may use a Power sword in his profile.
