Hey guys, I'm a long time Warhammer Fantasy player but have recently found mantic games kings of war miniatures. I've always wanted to start dwarves in warhammer but wasn't really interested in the models. However I really like mantic games dwarves.

Now my question is whether these models are suitable stand ins in warhammer fantasy or will they stand out too much?

for tournaments, they would not be allowed. However, in casual games, it would depend on the group you were playing with. I wouldn't personally have a problem with it, but some people would...

Skaven: 3000 pts
Daemons: 3000 pts
Lizardmen: 4000 pts
Rohan: 2000 pts
Retribution: 70 pts (1-2-1 so far)
Jesus: check

I don't see why people would have a problem. They seem pretty similar to GW models.

mantics stuff is "truescale" and GWs is "heroic" scale so they would not mix well with GW models butfi your whole army was mantic it would look fine they make great minis so go for it

Damn I cant wait to the GW legal team codex comes out now there is a dex that will conquer all.

They vary. The Dwarfs while a little less rotund are close in scale to WFB's, the skeletons and ghouls even more close. The Elves however are quite a lot slighter and less exaggerated in the feet and hands departments, much closer to LotR in scale.

Whether that bothers you is your decision. I recommend buying a small box of whatever faction you are most interested in (£8 isn't much to risk on such a purchase!) and see for yourself.

As for this ...

It depends a lot on how much say GW has in the running of the tourney.

A lot of independents don't care.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

Cool - Those dwarf models keep calling to me, as do the reasonable prices
