Inside your mind, corrupting the pathways

A layer of grackle glaze should help you here. The thicker you make it, the deeper the cracks when it dries.

You may have to seal it as it could be quite brittle.

Paint the base your ground colour, paste on the crackle glaze, allow to dry for a few hours, wash with wash colour, allow to dry and then seal.

Somewhere in south-central England.

You could try crackle varnish (craquelure medium).

drywall mud. When it dries like that it shrinks a bit though so if the base it's on isn't sturdy enough it will warp into a curved shape

Golden makes a crackle medium. It's very much worth looking into. They have videos available so you can see if it is indeed what you need.

just buy some GW paint in the old screw top lids and let it sit there for 6 months after opening it once and it'll look like that whether you want it too or not. grumble...grumble...

that's funny, I threw some of those paints away today. But I'm still using paints in the older style bottles, hex shaped with flip-top lids.

Lol, I got here way too late! I was going to post "PM SilverMk2, he uses crackle glaze to devestating effect".

same here. the paints i bought with the screw top lids are/were useless when i got back into minis painting a year ago. the paints i bought with a year ago with the current lid are starting to dry out. the paints i still have with the white lids you're describing are almost good as new despite being 10 years+ old. even when they run out, i'm not planning on throwing those bottles away as i'll just pour new paint into them.
