A few years ago I became a little obsessed with the Halo miniatures in the Action Clix line, and I bought one of these:

For size reference the Master Chief in front of the Scarab is comparable to a SM miniature is overall height.

I never found many Action Clix players in my area, so I never even opened the Scarab's box. Long story short I've tried to sell it, but the markets to flooded with these things and there's no way I could get even close to what I paid for it.

That brings me to the subject of this post, what to do with it. My main thought is to convert it into a giant piece of scenery, probably converting it to a 'crashed' pose. I wouldn't change the Scarab itself, except for adding some damage. Fluff-wise I would just say it was a unknown Xeno Titan that got destroyed millennia ago.I was also maybe thinking of building up some ramshackle building on and around the vehicle, maybe an hive city-esque or Ork fortress.

The only other idea would be to convert it into a Titan of some kind, but it doesn't really fit with any of the 40k races.

What do you think? I'm open to all ideas.

Maybe just keep it for display? It was pretty expensive, if I do recall, and it is a certainly nice model.

Some people play to win, some people play for fun. Me? I play to kill toy soldiers.

Yeah it was, but I'm not getting any use out it, and don't really have anywhere to display it. I may just keep, but I could be an awesome piece of terrain if I do it right

Yeah, that was my original idea. The Forgeworld model is nice, but I think it looks kind of skinny

I started an SM Army (AOBR, 1 IC Dread, 1 box Scouts w/ SR), but everything got lost when I moved . I just started a new job after being unemployed for 3 months, so I haven't started my new army yet, but will soon. I'm leaning towards SM, but might go Nid or maybe even Necron or Orks.

That's part of the reason why I was thing about making it terrain, instead of a Titan; so I could use it (with my opponents permission of course) with any army. But I'm not opposed to making it a Titan, as I do plan to build multiple armies in time.

Dude, if you're just gonna scrap it and make it terrain you might as well sell it for whatever you can here or on peebay.

Take the legs off. Reverse them and make 2 warhounds (or maybe old school Eldar Revenants)

How often do you play Apoc games? If it's not that often then I'd go with the scenery option, that's something you can use all the time.

either sell it or display it dont wreck it, you would have to be a seriously good painter to do it justice, and, honestly ive never seen any of your work.

Necron or Orks. I couldn't see it being anything else in 40K.

Dont scrap it/convert it. Just keep it on display. Some day your patience will pay off. Can i ask aprox how much the original RRP was? Obviously this is not necesarily what you paid.... Was it pre painted?

Oh i thought it was like $100s of dollars worth turns out it was ~$60. Would still keep it though as it is a nice tribute to halo. EDIT: JUST THOUGHT OF A BRILLIANT IDEA!!! Construct gangways and entry gantries around it รก la Metal Gear Rex in Shadow Moses. That way it would make an awesome terrain piece without damaging the model. E.g. it's a long lost war droid that no one nows how to pilot.

I've painted models before, but it's been a long time.

I can't remember exactly; I think the shop was asking $230 - 250, but I the CBG gave it to me for around $200.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions. I'll mull it over for a while, at least until I had more practice painting.
