If you are going to model some Pre-Heresy Space Marines, and wanted to give them Plasma pistols, would these work? If not, please help!

i would use trimmed down and dechoased chaos ones... always a good looking and more to the pre heresy stuff in my book look...

OK, I have a bunch of those, but I have a bunch of these too, I just don't really remeber where I got them from...and couldn't figure out which fit the time-frame better.

That's a plasma pistol from the 2nd ed assault weapon sprue, lots of my old marines are armed with them. I actually prefer the new slimmer plasma pistols, but the one I like best is the one in the Khorne Berserker set

That would work (heresy era equiptment pretty much just means 2nd ed) or you could go for the more agular, box like look that the chaos raptor's ones have (at least I think its the old raptors), which are the ones I use in my own old style 40k guard army (its not as far back as the heresy, but close enough^^).

That old plasma pistol from 2nd edition just looks ugly on most modern models - it's very, very fat. I'll echo that Khorne Berserker plasma pistols would work though. They're ornate and cool looking.

Thanks for all the replys! I was thinking the same, but wanted other's takes on it. I might use these fat ones in my converted Obliterators....maybe not.

The original plasma pistols looked like Foster's Lager cans. Pug ugly things but they're style was unmistakable.
