Ok then, here are my Soviet Grotz. I've swaped the tommy guns on half of them for normal GW Grot weapons. Instead of a slaver, they'll have a 'Drill Sergant'. The Drill SGT will be one of the early Ork Stormboy models which sort of had a WWII German SS Uniform on them.

These are top models, really easy to paint. The bodies are resin with no flash and a practically non existant mould line (TAKE NOTE FW!!!). The heads and guns (non GW ones) are metal.

They look great, although British Dakkites may see more then a resemblance to Del Boy.

I'm not doing a whole army of them, just a squad of 30. I love the fact that the coats are clearly too big for them. You can picture how the Grotz have looted the battlefield, nicking all the trench coats of the IG in an attempt to look important and like an organised force.

The 1st Edition Stormboy models will make great drill sgt's for them. Now painting up the next 10.

Well, all 30 now complete. I've mixed the arms on the Grotz so 50% of them have the GW Grot Arms. In a GW plastic Grot box there are only 5 models with arms that you can chop off to use so I've had to use hands from other Grot models such as the Riggers from some of the Ork Vehicle sets.

I've used the GW Mk1 Stormboy Models as Slavers but I think to call them 'Drill Sergants' would be more fitting. They have a nice WWII German / Soviet Soldier feel and look to them. I've mounted these on the 40mm base with a metal GW cave Squig as their attack squig so all the wargear is show on the model. I may add some desert weed to the bases to fit with my other Ork models.
