I am trying to find out what are the best type of pens to use when doing script work on the side of vehicles, any tips or ideas?

Is it pens then that everyone uses, I always thought it was a very steady hand and a fine detail brush????

I used a very fine marker for my scrolls once and it did not turn out as realistic as as it looks when you pait it on. I suggest bying a thinner brush thinner than the GW fine detail one and thinning down the paint a little.

Crimson, it was mate, however, these things killed it off due to making life so much easier XD

Script work, recess lining etc, all can be done with pends now.

I use these since they are cheap and pretty nice.

I have heard that the Heavy Metal Team sometimes uses pens to get some of the very thin lines, but some of it is free hand with a brush, I know you can pencil on what you want as a pattern and then paint over it, I have done is myself but only for Elven runes on shields etc but I want the lines to be more even, I find that a bush spreads out to much sometimes and depending on the pressure you apply on it, it can very in size

I just use a brush for it, but that's because I can't find anywhere around here that sells those paint pens used for lining models.

Some of these so-called Gundam pens are just normal commercial markers from companies like Staedtler.

Just get a very fine point.

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

I use these from time to time, but lately I have just relied on a good paintbrush and patience (I have to start over sometimes.) But practice helps.

And look for ones with 'waterproof' ink - can save a lot of tears when you later varnish over the top.

I actually use Prismacolor fine line markers. Didn't realize that they came with the .005 point until a was browsing some tutorials on the internet and rummaged through my art supplies. I would imagine, like has been stated, that any waterproof .005 point pens/markers should do (don't know if acid-free is necessary, but mine are, and sounds to me like a good thing.)
