I'm not sure this constitutes NEWS as such, but certainly it's something worth considering.

Whilst recently cruising the McVey website, and talking myself into and then out of, purchasing their new range of Sci Fi miniatures, you know, the ones that are supposed to be resin limited sculpts and that require a mortgage to be able to finance.....

It was then that I took a look at their limited resin sculpts, (not related to their Sci Fi range) and to my shock and horror, find that each miniature in the range is no longer LIMITED, as stock availablity is now showing them to be UNLIMITED stock.....WTF?!?!?

I was mug enough to buy a couple of these a while back, and happily paid the price based on the fact that they were limited and once gone could never be purchased again, and now it seems, that apart from the ones that have actually "sold out", what's left are suddenly unlimited to purchase......I wouldn't mind, but the price is still extortionate, and makes Forgeworld look attractive.

Studio McVey just dropped down, big style, in my estimation.

note: I realise that this might just be a glitch on thier system, but because it's against every miniature, I wonder if it is actually supposed to be that way. Plus, you have to ask yourself, if it is just a glitch, for a website devoted to Limited edition miniatures, the word UNLIMITED shouldn't really be part of the website vocabulary......

Agreed, that was the mission statement for the Sedition Wars range, I'm talking about the other "Limited" edition range.

Sorry, there was never any talk about the non sci fi stuff being released as metals, ever.....plus, if that were the case, why has the stuff that sold out, like the original Lt Kara miniature, not back in stock in metal format?

In order to get to the store, it seems you need to go through the Sedition Wars weblink, as the store link on the original Studio McVey website doesn't seem to work:

http://studiomcvey.highwire.com/

If you now go the "Limited Edition" resins, of which there are 13 items currently availible. Click on any item and note the "availability", each one states: Unlimited.

It's just an error. The availability counter on the new store has never worked.

Look at description text and you will see they are limited to 750. I think they are probably far from the selling all 750 that they will not account the 749, 748 etc on the site stock levels.

Looks like an error with the website to me. She's on the 'limited edition resin' page.

@ Dreadnote

Ermm, ok, how do you know that?

@ Navarro

Yep, I read the text, which is why I stated that it may be a glitch, I just don't understand why they wouldn't simply state that the figure is AVAILABLE if they can't be bothered to track the actual number in stock (I mean, I can understand that tracking a whole 750 units must be hard work!) rather than pi$$ people off with an UNlimited marker.

I guess common sense is a learned ability.

Well I have seen some Lted Mcvey casts and your comparing turds to a pearl... really Mcvey casts I have seen are so sharp, detailed and super clean that its surelly some of the best resins casts I have ever got my hands on. As for FW its a luck exercise, you could be lucky and get something reasonable or unlucky and a get a resin turd.

Because I have seen the store when it was new, and nothing has changed since then. I have also ordered from them before and after the new store was implemented, and you still get a little certificate saying "this is casting number XXX".

Also, the range is still "Limited edition resin" and it has that whole "limited to 750 castings" bit on every model in the range. Simples.

Well mate give them some slack they have created new site for sedition with integrated store forum etc just a month or 2 ago? Surelly theres some bugs.
If it turns you off so much you could log in on their new forum and point out the Bug ( from what I read there they seem very friendly and that are listening to what people ask... or in your case complain) they surelly would apreciate that... and everybody would win?

Ok, credit where credit is due....their miniatures are a LOT better quality than Forgeworld, so I take that remark back.....I guess you get what you pay for....or not, in the case of Forgeworld.

Yes, I could email them and simply ask.....I maintain that, as a customer using a service, you shouldn't have to, however, using my common sense as it were, could yeild a response that is a better application of my time than simply ranting on here....another point for the home team!

It looks as though there is a general concensus that this is nothing more than a glitch, and what was promised as limited will remain so. I will contact Studio McVey to get an "informed" answer. However, as far as this thread is concerned, it doesn't appear to need more discussion at this point.

Dont lock it please and get back to us with the "official" stance... we could all be looking at this in a wrong prespective and in fact its not just a glitch thing.
Let us know how it turns out.
Meawhile I will be waiting for the metals

Studio McVey's really popular "Ar-Fienel" miniature (the elf with the hawk descending stairs) is still out-of-stock and not for sale. Additionally, I believe that is the only model that Studio McVey has ever truly sold out of with the "Y'Sala and Darkness" coming close but not selling out.

The "Unlimited" is likely a fluke with the online store.

I believe that the chick with a big gun walking on a base of melting stuff also sold out.
