So yea i finally get the money to afford some nifty terrain pieces from forge world, so when I go to purchase them there all out of stock. So I waited more and more, eventually a month passed and it was still out of stock. So I e-mailed Forgeworld and asked what there average time to restock something. Turns out basically the entire trench system and any terrain that has to do with the first 7 IA books or so is getting discontinued. So besides me shedding tears, is there any other good terrain model sites I can go to? I find a few here and there from the dakka dakka advertisements, but usually the selection is so small.

It's not that "any terrain that has to do with the first 7 IA books is getting discontinued".

It's that the molds have been worn out entirely on the most popularly bought stuff(trenches were huge sellers, as was the Anphelion Complex oddly enough) and there's no real intent to replace them.

The Hydra Emplacement, thank God, is still in production

It would be nice if they would introduce some updated items to replace those worn out popular items.

Why not make new moulds if they were such good sellers?

Probably because it's expensive making resin molds(at least quality molds that can withstand the amount of production that Forge World goes through) and even Forge World's "best-sellers" aren't that good sellers.

You could always try out Litko with their 'Industrial Tower' and 'Space Corridor' systems.

Thats sad, I liked their trenches. Hopefully they will return to making them at some point, or GW would pick it up.

I've been after their Tyranid terrain, and I was annoyed that they were out of stock. Oh well, probably have to hunt on ebay.

The Tyranid terrain has been out of stock for almost 4-5 months.

Have you checked out Armorcast?

Their stuff is not a pretty as FW but it's decent quality and tough.

thanks for the correction on the terrain. But yea I don't get why they would discontinue a popular item, if they make so much of them. That is like game works saying. Hey since you guys bought so many tactical marines were going to discontinue them!. Also thanks for the other suggestions ^-^

You're not understanding how this works.

They don't "discontinue" the item by choice.

The molds have gotten so worn down that they're no longer usable, and they cannot necessarily replicate that mold 100% perfectly.

For that matter, the stock they've been selling of late is what they had warehoused not stuff cast to order. What we'll likely see is Forge World replacing those items, but it will take awhile. They've got a small pool of sculptors and most of them are busy with models for Warhammer Forge or Imperial Armour right now.

It'd be the balance of what is the time/cost to remake the mold to demand for additional models. The run might've sold well, but not well enough that they want to do it again.
