Quick question:

When people talk about Chaos Renegades of traitor IG armies, is it just a case of painting normal IG darker and callign them "baddies" or are there separate rules floating around somewhere for traitor IG armies?

Forge World have a free download that deals with some Traitorous Guard units, I think this link will work:

Most people just paint their guard units different and call them baddies. Though some use the forge world rules. Best to clarify if you get confuzzled.

Yeah i knew that, i just didn't know if there were specific rules for them or if you just played them using the normal IG codex.

I play IW but i was gogin to team with a friedn using his IG army as "renegades". Wanted to make sure that using the normal IG codex woudl be acceptable. now that i have the "official" renegade rules though, it might make the 2 armeis gell together better.

Those FW rules are one of the best kept secrets of 40k.

It's a shame that so many people still lament the loss of the EoT codex, but aren't aware of something which is in many ways better. The rules also help with the shortcomings of the latest CSM codex, especially if you are a fan of Khorne or Nurgle.
