Hey guys,

I really don't have a good pic to show you the end result, but if you are looking for ways to paint their ammo bags, here is a video on how I do it.

Cheers and enjoy!

I prefer a darker color on my bags. I go with usually 2 coats of Bestial Brown and an edge highlight of Snakebite Leather. It is less labor intensive, and has a darker look than yours. But still a good technique.

Good looking Crimson Fist. I like the detail you put into the bag. I go simple, do a black base coat, then depending on the character or the unit, the bag will either be a ruddy leather with a brown leather wash, or I'll use uniform brown with the brown leather wash. It's simple but effective, however it does not look nearly as good as yours.

If not for the mediocre who would be great, and thank goodness for those who are just terrible they make even those who are mediocre look great

I wish there were more threads like this one and fewer threads about stupid things normal people don't have the time or resources to replicate themselves.

Props.

Lost in the warp. Halp!

Awesome. I don't have a lot of ammo bags for my Marines yet (because most of mine are inherited or AoBR models) but this will be very good to know for some of the other units I start creating. I bet this would work great for IG too. Thanks!

I'm thinking this would probably work well for SM bike saddles too, I'm getting a Ravenwing Battleforce in a few days so I'll let you know

Thanks guys for the comments. It absolutely will work on saddlebags and also the seats too! I painted a chaplain on a bike and that exact colour scheme was used on the seat. looked cool Good luck and share your results!

+1 I totally agree

"Brothers! I have seen the future and it is grim. We shall still be fighting our fallen brothers 10,000 years from now, but we shall not be remembered. All records of us will be lost and forgotten, all knowleage of our existence denied and our name classed as heracy! We shall lose our home and spend eternety drifting through space as vengeful spectres, smiting any enermy of mankind foolish enough to stand in our way. Let these facts fuel your hate! Show no fear, show no mercy and show no remorse! We are death incarnate! We are fury given form! We are the brothers of the 2nd legion!" Primarch of the 2nd addressing his troops on the steps of the emperor's palace just before the siege during the horus heracy.

great tutorial. I really like how you explain the technique prior to doing it to the model. Helps it sink in a little more. Keep up the awesome work.
