Hello im still rather new to the game, i bought black reach before christmas and im getting to know the rules very well. ive played with the black reach many times with my sister! of all people lol. anyway... i like to give myself a challange and be the orks each time we play. as you may know the sides seem slightly unfair, 9/10 times out of ten she wins and she gets some bloody lucky dice roles too!. what would you guys recommend as a tactic to at least try and win some more. should i keep the boys in one unit or two units of ten? the table we use it quite small but seems suitable enough for all the black reach miniatures. also most of the time she kills off most of my orks with the terminators and they end up running away before i can even reach her.(bloody terminators if i could kill one of them!!) i have a few home made ruins but not much is working. also if the warboss is with the boys do they still run if they are below 50% and happen to fail the morale test? cheers.
also i dont have an ork codex so i dont know much about an extra rules. thanks

Warboss is included in the 50% test and they use his morale if its larger. Would run them in a 20 as the nobz count as troops.
Run the coptas in 3x1. Use them to destroy the dread and outflank them.
I forget what else comes in the set. But remember - boys beat termies. Nobz beat normals.

so just run my tits off with 20 boys and the warboss? or you saying can i mix the boys and nobs? seems like a thing orks would do anyway lol, couldnt really outflank the dread in what we played, she never moved it lol and it was on the edge of the table. could do with a bigger play area i suppose.its basically a big coffee table with a upside down subbuteo pitch and scenery lol

Yes if you want to actually win you should get a codex.
1. the deffcopta would get a scout move.
2. your orks would get better strength on the charge.
3. your orks morale would last longer with higher numbers.
just a couple of things to think about.

Such a cute post - sometimes I wish I could recapture that wonderfully naiive excitement back when I first started 40k.
Are you playing any specific missions or is it just wipe each other out?

I'd get a codex for each side and actually play by a set points limit using the codex rules. The Black Reach set is a starter that is designed to get more cookie cutter marines sold, and as such the orcs get seriously short changed. Even the odds with codex rules and a set points limit and you should be good to go.

So for not putting any codex specific abilities in that it doesn't give you in the black reach book or game manual.
Put your Warboss with either your nobz or boyz to keep him from getting shot up. and yes your only choice you really have with the orks is charge charge charge. Remember your boyz have 2 big shootas who can take shots at your targets if you find yourself not in assault range yet.
A good tactic to since it seems like she is like all my friends who play the space marines. Is if she keeps the terminators and space marines close by you can if you have enough boyz alive assault both units at the same time. This will bog them down and avoid any template weapons in the next shooting phase, as well as give your nobz plenty of room to get in themselves and do plenty of chopping.

Boyz counter Termies.
Also
Nobz get 4 attacks (3 normally+slugga)
and boyz get 3 (2 normalcy+slugga).

wouldnt say excitement like.. lol actually started 40k when i was about 12, im 25 now with two terror children, but never played as a kid, anyway.. ive also played seize ground and capture but the table size seems a bit crap for those games. should be able to get myself a 6 x 4 board from work.
