But I had a dream last night, in which I was at my local GW and there were hobbits with plasma cannons..
I want to bring that dream to reality but have NO IDEA how to build hobbits (So it could be very hard) so I was hoping for either some input, or a pic of the sprues-thanks!

I remeber reading a blog a while back about an all ratling Imperial guard army. They were made simply by cutting a guard's legs at the knees and shortening them, but I think that they'll just end up looking like the old squats with plasma cannons.

... Well lots of questions ... but lord of the rings hobbits will be too small... you want something like Ratlings.

what i think you need is a base to work on ...

... plastic gretchin might be the answer. You would need to make replacement heads but other wise i think they're perfect.

Though i cannot find any plasma gun sprue's without getting a devastators or sentential ... you could patch one together from the eldar H.weapon sprue

I think GW just got the license to make stuff for the Hobbit. Who knows, there might be more models for you to convert with a year?

There are IG Ratlings. I could imagine a conversion of them, standing on a crate or barrel, resting a PlasCannon on a wall for support - sniper-style.
