I will probably watch it, but really not a fan of CGI used to show silly stuff, in this case Magneto hauling a big arse submarine out of the sea (yawn).

EDIT - This might work better... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UrbHykKUfTM&feature=player_embedded#at=42

Good find!

Well, in relation to CGI silliness...just look at what the comics give them as inspiration....

Yes, I suppose, but if Chris Nolan can tone down the silliness of the Batman comics...

X Men and X2 were arguably quite restrained as well. The less said about X Men: Last Stand the better. Although at least it had Ellen Page in one of those suits. The little minx

I couldn't really get into the other x-men films and the trailer looks like something I'd hate. But on the other hand I've rarely disliked films Mathew Vaughan has been involved in. Just saw Harry Brown the other week, brilliant film. This doesn't look like harry brown though but he can do cheesy stuff fairly well i.e. stardust. We shall see.

I will probably see it.

I hope it's better than Thor and Captain America look. Those just are not interesting me right now.....

Of course, I think Iron Man kind of set the bar high on Super Hero Movies, dunnit?

Honestly, after "Last Stand" and "Wolverine" ...all X Men Films have moved to my "Wait for DVD" list.
The trailer doesn't look "terrible" exactly...but my " Warning: CGI driven film with little actual plot" alarm is sounding...so yeah,I'll wait for someone else to buy the DVD and see it then.

Agreed. Wolverine was funny-bad.

It did have it's moments, however I believe I'd have appreciated them a lot less had I forked over twenty dollars to see it at the theatres and not been watching my Missus' Brothers copy.

The prison camp from the beginning of number one was cool. More of that, through flashbacks?

I became a Magneto fan when they fleshed out his backstory. More of that to add to his anguish and deepen his character would be wonderful (though I highly doubt they will go that route).

Too bad if they don't. That's a good, legit motive for him to develop his "Humans are evil" mindset.

This does look better than expected. Putting asde comic history and putting it squarely in the diegesis of the films will probably be the difficult part for many. I include myself but I will do my best to keep an open mind. It does indeed look better than X3.

The Hellfire Club is the antagonist of the film, and going by the teaser my guess is that they are going to try and start a war between the US and Russia using the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Amidst the mists and coldest frosts he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.

Eh...this movie is more about introducing the "first" generation of X-Men that re-introducing a villain that is now for all intents and purposes dead in the present day.

Well, at least that's better than causing the Three Mile Island incident...

And even if Magneto wasn't the primary (or even an) antagonist, could a flashback be used to show why he's reluctant to join forces with the good guys?

He isn't the antagonist in this as this is when he and Charles are BFF's. If this is a one shot it the secondary plot will be the rift between Xavier and Magneto, but if they are planning more than one it will the foundation for it.

Agree with Ahtman.

I always lked the Hellfire Club, and I really like Fassbender and Macavoy, so I'll probably catch this one in the theater, even after the disappointment of X3.

I thought I saw someone who looked like Wolverine slicing some guards. It's the scene where something teleports into the middle of 3 guard shooting and it quickly follows that a shaded figure slices them with the wolverine blades sound effect.

BTW it looks like Kevin Bacon is the head badguy - just a guess.

I was never a Capt. America fan but I think the movie looks intriguing.

Thor, not so much...

You know, my wife says I may actually turn into Kevin Bacon. *Crosses Fingers*

Capt. America just looks cheesy compared to alot of the other super hero flicks, to me at least.

But again, Iron Man set the bar high with Downey Jr. The dude portrays a perfect millionare playboy.

Kevin Bacon plays Sebastion Shaw (aka The Black King), the leader of the Hellfire Club, so yes, he is a bad guy.

Amidst the mists and coldest frosts he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.
