I love that dad gum model. It is just too cool for me to resist buying it.

I play Eldar, codex SM and Tau.

I am not inclined to start a new army just to play with the vehicle, but I am definatly going to get one, and play with it in Apoc games.

Anyone thinking they just want the model for it's own coolness?

I love the Storm Raven. I got one to fit in with my DoA Blood Angels army, and I'm going to theme my Grey Knights army around them, when I jump that bandwagon.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

I think it's ugly and one of the worst GW models in quite a while, at least compared to the great DE range or most other new Blood Angels stuff.
( yes, even the nipple marines are pretty great once one accepts that particular armour design )

I think they look rather amusing, and would quite enjoy purchasing one if I could afford it and could use it, but since I don't play Blood Angels it seems like such a waste just to paint the dang thing and let it sit on a shelf.

They look far better in person than they looked in photos. I know my Salamanders will be getting one when I get around to redoing them.

Slightly bemused as to why it needs be announced with a poll in a new thread.
Flying housebricks don't do it for me tbh, but each to their own. You like so hope you will get much pleasure from it.

It would be on my list. If either of my SM chapters, wolves and CF, could take one. As far as i can tell though, they are not allowed to have one in the current codex of either army.

I'm not a big fan of the model (although it does look much better in the flesh) but i would definitely buy one for an army.

A simple conversion of putting a Razorback turret in place of the supplied turret makes it look 100% better.

if i could put one in my army i would, however, salamanders and other basic SM just dont have that in the codex at the moment. if GW would do something to erratta the codex and make it an additional dedicated transport, it would be good. they would sell more that way.

It's not too bad really, however I don't play Blood Angels nor do I intend to play Grey Knights.

Plus I've been cutting down on models I buy just to build/paint and started focussing on my own armies. Anyways that thing looks pretty big and methinks it'd be a bugger to store.

I don't play any marines other than Thousand Sons, so I really have no use for it. Plus, it just looks odd to me, like a chibi marine vehicle rather than a real gunship. It's just too (for want of a better word) cute to fit into a marine army for me!

I play inquisition and I won't be adding it to my collection. It's front heavy, lacks any credible way to attach the dreadnaught (and frankly hanging a dread off the back rather than giving it a crew compartment is dumb anyway), the crew compartment is too small, the turret too big AND worst of all there's no way to remove the wings for storage.

I'll find an alternate or use a Valk which is an amazing model.

I would convert the hell out of it if someone gave me one. But I will not be buying one. Don't really like the model much (except for a few people have converted which actually look quite cool) and since I don't play SM, there is not really a lot I could use it for.

I did see one conversion that pretty much fixes the darn thing.

But I hate to support such a mediocre model.

I actually think it's really ugly and I'm not talking about the Imperial blocky aesthetic. The proportions don't look right compared with a Thunderhawk; it doesn't look good like the land vehicles (Land Raider, Rhino variants both look great).

The only reason I'd take one is for rules if I played the army, or conversion fodder for a better version of itself.

I'd rather get a housebrick and paint it yellow.

It has a better chance of hanging in the air (like certain other impossibly large yellow somethings.).

I've bought other models purely to build them and have them on the shelf.

Monolith, Hammerhead, Slave 1, etc.
This one can stay in the store.

It's uglier than a hatful of donkeycaves.
Dumber than a box of hammers.
Appeals only to modellers whose only expertise is in dumping bits into a puddle of glue and calling the job a good'un.

I'd rather use a Valkyrie kit like many others have to create a much better looking model.

I'm reserving my opinion till I see one in reality, but from what I've heard it looks far better in reality than it does in pictures, and even the pictures are slowly starting to grow on me....

Then again I play Guard, and to be honest, I'd buy a Thunderbolt or Valkyrie first. Just because I'd actually be able to use those models.

The manager of my local GW was painting one when I went in the other day and it looked as gimpy in the plastic as it does in pictures

It's clunky boxiness has it's own charm IMO. Like the woobie from your favorite show/movie/game.

Also it can have a TL-Heavy Bolter, TL-Assault Cannon, Hurricane sponsons, and Bloodstrike Missiles! How can anyone say no to all that dakka!

There's clunky boxiness that looks good, and then there's clunky boxiness that looks like a turkey.

But I guess it has charm in the same way as the Pumbagor:

i like wat you can put on the stromraven like all of the weapons but ik have no care for the look of it. It reminds me oof a goldfish the main thing that ik like about the model is thaat it can move flat out get a covers save and still shoot one weapon makes it so unfair or ove 12 inches and drop a dreadnought off the back and have it assult with its blood talons. that is my opinion of the flying goldfish lookin model its also has a lack of imagation for me to look at. one of my friends said it looks like a star wars gunship from attack of the clones also why does it have turbines if it flies in space
