They look kinda like the really old IG, 2nd edition cadians. Do you have a picture of the weapons?

The guns would reveal all imo, I mean the really old ones, that look absolutely nothing like the ones now.

Don't recall any GW mini's with cast bases like that.

Poor orks... Why can't they be the good guys for once?

The really, really old pre-slotta minis had bases like that.

You might be able to find them here.

These aren't Games Workshop models. Considering the vast number of sci fi figures that have been made by different companies; new and old, it's not going to be easy to figure out where they're from. Is anything carved out on the bottom of the base? A year, initials, etc?

Viktor: Those aren't Cadians. Cadians hadn't been invented yet. Those are just the Imperial Guard plastics from RT (1st ed) 40k.
I have 40 of those guys - and they still look better than the Catachans.

They're just these ones.

thanks in advance, Vik

No. I haven't identified the metals you posted - I'm scouring the ads in old gaming mags to find them (going back to 1985)
Although a scale picture of them (next to something we know the size of, like current GW stuff) would help a lot.
Although if they could use the old plastic GW lasguns then that puts them between large 25mm and 28mm.

My picture was to clear up the "OOP plastic cadians" comment.
There are no OOP plastic cadians. There are only the original Guard plastics, and current cadians (10 box is identical to the old 20 box except half the contents and higher price per unit).

Oh i see , i also have the plastic imperial army guys, at vik
I have seen many many ancient citadel minis , and i dont ever recall any imperial army guys been out pre slotta , i may be wrong but , maybe they are from traveller , the game 40k was based upon. will have a look through some ancient wds see if they pop up.

40k wasn't based upon Traveller.
It's closer to say it's based upon Laserburn and Combat 3000 and other BRITISH things.
Besides, Traveller figs were 15mm.

ALL 40k infantry models have always been base required (no integral base) and the metals up until mid RT were single piece casts for the most part.

There have been many miniatures companies doing the 25mm thing especially in the 80s and 90s. Many would have had the integral pill base.

I may have seen something like this before. Many years ago.

I thought that didnt sound right when i was typing it but their you go , my memory isnt as quick as it used to be but do i sense a tiny bit of anti american tension there , no need for caps surely.

The caps were for specificity.

BRITISH things like tea and crumpet and hating the French.
And toy soldiers, lots of them, for many many years. Many of which were Brits to fight the Frenchies.

As opposed to other merely British things such as VAT, Maggie Thatcher and Poll Tax.
(Was in London during the riots after that was introduced.)
Or American things like Maccy-Ds and apple pie.
