starting in april my local game store is doing an escalation league followed by campaigns.
I normally play lizzies but seeing as how in may new TK is coming out I though, eh why not start a tombkings army
first round is 500 points core only
so far I have
full light horse x8
fulle skellie warriors x16 HW and shields
fulle skellie warriors x16 bows
I have exactly enough points left for a scarab swarm after that.

Kinda boring advice here but maybe the most effective since core only and this will make use of much needed models for escallation.

Try to get the most out of shooting as you can always hitting on 5s means every shooting phase you'll be getting about 20 hits from all 60, you can probably get a good 2-3 rounds of shooting in before you're in combat. I don't like the idea of shield skeletons, WS of 2 means a fail in combat anyway, better to thin them out and with the cheap point costs you'll likely be facing 1-2 units, so close the gate and get some rear/flank action.

Thus, After having thus successively taken each member of the community in its powerful grasp and fashioned him at will, the supreme power then extends its arm over the whole community. It covers the surface of society with a network of small complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence; it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd

With a new book coming out, I'd take a mixed force. You don't want to end up with 120 bowmen to find they suck in the next book.
