Here is the short story:

I own space wolves, tyranids, dable in dark eldar and I have a tomb kings army. Now this is the problem: when the blood angels came out I was just awestruck by the models, they blew me away! Now I have 10 death company, 2 attack bikes (MM), 20 assault marines and the space hulk temrinators (I bought spacehulk yeah) but I have no idea what to do.

What was I thinking starting another marine army?! I have barly played for more then a year (we sell it at work so I get a little discount) but I am starting to paint the models and it takes for ever. I don't even play that often. I just like to poce the models. All the blood angel models have really good poses, each time I look at them I wanne start jumping around with the bolter pistols and melta guns! I have packed them down now, I do not know what to do with them. My space wolves are painted in purple and orange (dont start) but blood angels deserves to be red.

I am at a complete loss.

If you have more than you want, use a trade forum to trade off an army you don't want to hang on to and improve an army you care more about. Or just put them on the back burner for a bit and focus on other armies to start. If you are mostly buying on the "oooh that's cool" basis, get models you like, paint em, and just pick one or two armies that you want to fully collect and use other armies for painting hobbies. I understand the trap of working in a store that sells GW and grants a discount.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

You should either play with them, loaning one of your armies to someone else interested or playing against others in your area, if there are any, or you should paint and display them, or just enjoy painting by starting to do commission work for others.

Send them to me!

If you don't have the motivation to paint them now, I'd just paint something else and hang onto the Space Hulk models (at least) until motivation comes around.

If the issue is that you don't feel like painting red, consider one of the successor chapters; or an all-gold scheme if you want something quick & easy.

If the time spent painting is the problem, check out some P&M threads for speed techniques, like priming white and painting with washes.

Thanks for the replies.

I think my problem is that I really like colecting and posing models. Gluing them together etc. I do enjoy painting as well it just takes a lott of time and I do not feel that I am improving that mutch. I just dont have time to paint all that mutch besides the job, universaty, soscial happenings and the student radio. I think this crisis of faith comes from the fact that I have very little time.

Painting tyranids is easy and goes very fast, dark eldar is funn so thats OK. But new marines. I do not know. :-/

I just like the rules for the death company and the cool poses. But death company and assault marines do not really mix in the same codex. And if I wnat to ivest in them I would need to buy transports and hevay suport witch would cramp my stykle with the space wolves. Should I just paint them in the same purple and then just share the transports between them?

Is it crazy to have so many models after playing the hoby so little time?

Not if it's what you like most about the hobby. I recently started and while I'm enjoying playing it's the modeling and painting that got me excited about it. I haven't been able to play a ton yet, but I've had a lot of time to build and paint and I love it. Like you said, you like building the models and so you buy the ones that look cool. Think about people that buy other scale models; cars, planes, trains, etc and build them. There's no game for them but they enjoy creating something and it's something they enjoy. About ten years ago I used to build car models frequently, and if it wasn't for that experience I probably wouldn't have started 40k. Now I have a fairly large Space Wolves army (couldn't resist space vikings, I chose them based purely on fluff and looks). I've built most everythign I need and am now just painting it up. I'm taking my time to do it right and keep from getting burned out.
However, there are a ton of other models that I would love to build. My friend has an Eldar army and is the complete opposite of me. He doesn't enjoy building and painting but absolutely loves strategy and the actual playing of the game. I really like the wraithlord model so i bought one that I'm going to build and paint for him. The Dark Angels have a really cool look I like, Dark Eldar archons look sick, when I look at Grey Knight terminators I say "Wow!" and so on. I know in the future I will definitely collect models from other armies that I may or may not play. Who knows. If my skill increases enough maybe I can even make some extra money doing commissions.

So in short, do what you like. It's your money and your time. What other people think doesn't really matter.
