I've seen alot of Ork objective markers and all that and I'm looking to make my own. Most of what I've seen have been piles of weapons or ork totems, now the Ork totems kind of make sense but the guns and weapons never really have for me because Orks already have guns and weapons. Now since the whole point of an objective is something your army wants to capture I want to make mine into things that Orks would actually fight to get back, so here are some of my ideas so far based off of things that orks would want to either capture or recapture.

Effigy of Gork(or Mork): Unlike the fantasy ones this won't be made of dung, I'm going to have it be a statue cobbled together from metal. The idea behind it is pretty straightforward, it's a sacred item and so the boyz need ta get it back.

Da boss' best shoota: I know I said most are weapons but I can see Orks fighting to capture their boss' favorite shoota then just trying to get a pile of weapons. The way I see it is the boss was in the middle of krumpin eads and his shoota runs out of ammo so he drops it and fights with his klaw and choppa.

The enemy breaks and runs and in the heat of battle da boss and da boyz chase after. Eventually the boss remembers where he left his shoota and the mob goes back for it but the enemy has moved into that area again. I also think it's funny that whatever enemy is holding the ground won't know that they're being invaded just for a gun

Da boss' ead stik: Orks take trophies and a warboss has the best of them all, the heads of enemy commanders. But the last boss was wiped out, now his successor wants to prove e's da toughest by geting the old boss' ead stick. The fun part is he's got to krump his way through the enemy to get it

other then guns an choppas, shiny gubbins to tinker with are the most valuable things to an ork.

Well we all know that War is the most important thing to Orks but there have to be more items that Orks would find important and want.

Boxes of teef!!!

A toof will buy a good Squig pie and a tankard of fungus beer, while a bag of teef will buy a cheap buggy. A big flashy battlewagon could cost a warboss hundreds of teef.

Ok on a more orky note :

A huge nasty squig: the warboss always wants the biggest and baddest things, and these things include squigs, make a fun objective and in a freindly game maybe make up some special rules for the objective squig.

A peice of loot such as a massively overpowered engine of maybe even a complete set of "Orkwall" tires in the new off road grot chewers tread, orks are always looking for the next bit to go faster in style.

I'm well aware of what's important to the Orks (and Conan) but there are also items the Orks would fight to get and Ben & Jerrys is not it one of them, though I am fairly miffed that they've done away with Dublin Mudslide

Anyway teef isn't something that Orks would need to fight for same as weapons because they already have them. Besides a warboss woulden't need to pay for anything he just beats the

But again I'm not going to make a objective marker that's nothing but weapons (besides the boss' shoota which will be one gun on a pile of bodies) or teeth because I don't see Orks fighting an entire army for a box of teeth.

Teeth = money to orks, so they probably would fight over a chest of them Some orks are greedier than others. Gold plate them if you like


Wounded enemy markers with a choppa embedded in a limb might be fun:

Why would orks fight a whole army? Because they're there to fight. Orks don't need a reason, and often don't even bother with an excuse

Orks get incensed when their enemies display captured ork back plates. If an ork wants to display captrued trophies like helmets then that's fair enough but for an enemy to display ork back plates is taking things too far. So as an objective marker, a banner or poll with lots of back plates on it would be the sort of thing orks would want to get back. Orks also display captured backplates too.

Weapons and teef are also legitimate things orks would want to capture. Weapons for obvious reasons, because alien built weapons will no doubt function more reliably than ork ones, and will count as a status symbol which confers its own intrinsic value. Teef don't last forever, they rot to nothing over a period of months and orks who want to buy something really urty from the meks will need lots of teef and hoarding teef is something that just can't be done, so a big pile of teef would certainly attract orks; in order to bribe Blood Axe mercenaries Guardsmen often scavvenge teef from battlefields in order to pay them off so a few guardsmen handballing a big chest of teef would make a great objective marker.

Well then it's to bad I already said I won't be doing them now isn't it.

Like I said I'll figure out the rest of what I'm going to make myself.

1. box of teef.
2. a caged squiggoth.
3. if its a mek boy maybe a box of mek tools?
4. maybe a bigger bosspole to put more 'eads of his enemies on.

How about the warbosses faviroute pet sqiug ?

You could have the best gnasher squig or invent a whippet like racin squig; the boss's fastest and therefore favourite racin squig naturally. Or a squidgeon carrying secret plans as in the graphic novel.

this is definitely a viable possibility.

Also, gretchin orderlies look after wounded orks so that the doc can get some teef out of them after the 'surjery' and so other docs don't get there first, often with the result that the poor grot fights to the death to protect the patient. A wounded grot orderly fighting off all comers from a fallen ork might be a cool objective marker.

A map that shows where the fighting is?

Pointing out that what you suggested is something I've already said I woulden't do isn't being touchy it's making something clear to someone who either hasen't taken the time to read the thread or did and just plain out ignored what's been said for whatever reason.

Which won't happen because Moderators don't close threads just because people ask them to. I'm sure this thread will be usefull to others who want to hear ideas for Ork objective markers that are as generic as what everyone else makes, just because I have no more use for it because people don't get what kind of items I'm looking for dosen't mean it needs to be closed.

That being said a caged squiggoth isn't a bad idea as it's deffinitly something that a Snakebite Warboss would want to recover and I do have an extra Stegadon I can convert. I'll probably make it look like some Kroot have captured it at the command of their Tau overseers so that they could study it.

Don't Orkses like stuff they can salvage and use to fix up looted equipment

Orks would bash each other for teefs cos the more and bigger teefs the better as far as orks are concerned.
