Hey doods. So I got a Trukk kit for Christmas and have spent the last month and a half painting. This was my first proper vehicle so I was going from scratch on large(ish) panel painting so I ended up putting a lot of hours into it. Easily 25+. Needless to say, I'm quite glad it's now finished but I'm quite chuffed with how it came out.

This was also my first attempt at serious weathering. Few more washes and rust effects, and I really got into using Tamiya weathering kits.

Decided to go with one ramp down as it seemed a waste to face the extra detail on the one side of the ramps inwards.

Had to go with a red engine to give me a "red paint job" excuse.

I decided to do the black flames on yellow background after giving it a go on the underside barrel. I'm chuffed with the results, but I ended up needing 8 or so coats of yellow to get a good spread.

Balls, seems I forgot to wash the gun sight .

Really pleased with the front panel. Think I got a good mix of washes and some cool chipped paint round the edges. I also added the bullet holes and tried out a blood splatter effect.

While not as detailed, because I built this after painting it all has a basecoat, single wash and weathering.

How's your weathering? Very nice actually. It's very realistic looking.

Thanks dude .

As with everytime I take pictures to show off what I've done I'm spotting a few bits I've missed. Gonna have to go in and fix them today before I stick it in the display case .

That is impressive. Lovin the bullet holes and blood splatter effect. What's next??

That's really nice weathering, but two things stand out to me:
That the exhaust and gun barrels don't have soot on them.
And the chipping is too minimal and could war a highlight to bring out existing scratches.

Thanks Frag.

I did apply some soot effect to the barrels and exhaust, but I agree it's not very obvious. Is there a good technique for doing it?

I'll try and highlight the chips a bit, see what I can do

Finland... the country next to Sweden? No! That's Norway! Finland is to the east! No! That's Russia!

Very nice!

But there is too little dirt on the wheels for my taste... Don't orks after all drive over anything?

I'm not sure what "chuffed" means, but the trukk is very nice.

Perhaps one of the Foundation paints would be useful for the first coat, next time.

Thanks, I've heard using a toothbrush is effective, but not having one to hand, I made a thin red with red gore and lots of water. Then I filled a wash brush and held it close to the area and blew through it. It took a few brush loads but splattered well I think .

Chuffed is pleased basically. Pleased with how it came out.

I tried using a brown as an undercoat in places, but it didn't seem to help much. Would you recommend anything in particular?

The US and the UK remain two peoples separated by a common language . I pretty much figured that out really.

You can use either Tausept Ochre or Iyanden Darksun as a basis for Orky yellow. Both cover black with no difficulty whatever. These are Citadel, but there are probably similar, high-pigment-content paints in other lines.

Try stippling the barrel with black, it works well.
Also keep in mind you can dilute the powder so it spreads about and is less labor intensive.
Anyway great work, is there any chance you will be displaying any more of your army.

Thanks guys. Frag, you can see everything that's painted so far in my gallery, though it isn't much atm . About 12 models or so I think.
