Hey all, as you can see I'm a new user (feel free to come say hello to me in the intoduction section!) so sorry if this topic has been done to death

I'm really passionate about the Eldar, and 1 of the things that has consistently bugged me, is that there doesn't seem to be much background on Ahra, the fallen Phonix. The only thing that seems to be stated on him is that he "burns with the light of Chaos". I also vaguely recall a reference to him destroying Asurmen's origonal shrine of Asur.

So yeah, I was basicly wondering if anybody knew much more about him?

He's also rumoured to be the "Dark Father" of the Incubi

If you picture the Phoenix Lords as martial artists, imagine Arhra as the 'power student' who does all the tricks he can to win.

But that's not all (as Maugan Ra does that, and more), instead of the nurturing way the Phoenix Lords have to teach, Arhra goes by slaughtering those not strong enough.

His aim is to be the greatest fighter in the universe, that's his goal and he'll do anything to achieve it. He leads by inspiration and example.

At least, that's how I see him.

The new Dark Eldar Codex confirms that he is "The Dark Father of all Incubi". The Codex also points at the possibility of special character Drazhar being that Arhra. Using the correct spelling, you might find more searching the internet.

From what I heard in another thread, Drazhar was all but canonically confirmed to be the missing Phoenix Lord of the Striking Scorpion aspect. Just speculation on their part?

Drazhar's identity is unknown. One of the theories presented in the codex is that he is either Arhra or some incarnation thereof. He doesn't eat, sleep, or talk, and shows no ambition or motivation beyond killing things, so no one knows the slightest thing about him.

Does anyone play Street Fighter?

I think a good way to imagine Arhra is like Akuma as he's that style of villain (as opposed to the SatAM Cartoon Bison which everyone else is)

They mention it a little in the new eldar bl book, path of the warrior. I'm only mid way through, but he's cropped up a few times so far. Supposedly roaming the webway somewhere...

What I don't get is why, if his allegiance is the Dark Eldar, why they mention about him "burning with the light of Chaos", unless of course they're going to retcon that.

Drazhar was only hinted at being Arhra in the new book. Before he was just an uber Incubi. This means that, yes, retcons are going to happen.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

I do believe that the Craftworld Eldar look on the dark kin as being basically worshipers of Chaos. Not to mention being WAY to much into S+M.
But basically, yeah, G-Dub (lol) will just say frak it, and like your crappy middle-shcool Dungeon Master, will retcon and change its caffine-addled mind, leaving the players ultimately frustrated.

He makes a cameo at the end of Path of the Warrior as well. Comes off as a fairly nice dude, oddly enough(pre-fall from grace maybe, or being manipulative). Hopefully he gets some more page time in the next 2 Eldar books.

They'd have to be pretty thick to to think that. If anything DE have more reason to hate/fear chaos than craftworlders do, and they're smart enough to know why. Apart from low level stuff like beastmasters capturing daemon critters, involvement with the Warp pretty much carries the death sentence in Commorragh.

While the other Asurya and Asurmen formed their Khaine-dedicated methods to protect and fight for others, I suspect Arhra took the dedication to another extreme and does it for it's own sake.

With Khaine being representative part Khorne and Slaanesh (as per Eldar psyche), what makes it dangerous with Arhra is he slips towards the extreme of doing it for it's own sake which is the danger of Chaos.

It may be this is what's meant by burning with the Dark Light of Chaos; with the way of his dedication to Khaine, he wallows in the extremes of the domain in the same way the followers of the four Chaos powers do.
